Does it bother anyone else when DH goes through thier purse?

It really bothers me I don't care what you're looking for. It's MY purse. Freaking ask first. I have said numerous times it bothers me. If you ask me for something like a lighter or keys (which are usually hanging up unless I am carrying in) and I say it's in my purse you can get them out then that's fine. But that doesn't give you free range to enter at will. Its not that I keep anything in there I need to hide. Right now I have 60 bucks cash I need to put in my secret lock box for black friday that don't want him pilfering. (The only cash I hide throughout the year is for Xmas for our 4 kids. I have stashed 300 bucks. And in my defense I do this cause I have gone a bit crazy in the past and overdrawn us without realizing until I got home and said ugh honey I screwed up). So I hide cash from tax return and sock away 5 or 10 bucks here and there but I digress.

I said I didn't have DHs debit card. I looked through my purse. I don't have. There's no need for him to doubt me.

Just had the same arguement with my DH today. He went in my purse and took money without asking. I told him to ask next time. I don't care about him taking money out but I do care that he went in my purse without even asking. He would be so annoyed if I went in his wallet without asking. Sad

He would no sooner go thru my wallet (i don't carry a purse) than I would go through his. I think he's asked two times in the past 15 years. That's just how we respect each other.

My husband refuses to get into my purse, even if I tell him to. If I say, "It's in my purse, go ahead and get it", he brings my purse to me. His mother raised him to never get into a woman's purse.

If an armed robber broke into our house and demanded all of our money, my husband would hand me my purse (there is an episode of Frazier that talks about that very thing and we laugh everytime we see it).

"that don't want him pilfering". are you thinking if the man would go through your purse, he'll take what he wants? sounds like a symptom of a problem, not the problem itself. does he feel entitled/take from you in other ways? this is NOT normal for husbands to do. something's off here.
