Well..well....well...GWR aka SS may be going to community college
Seem GWR has applied to the local community college. Interesting since the last we heard GWR though college as a waste of time and only idiots go to college. What he is going for, unknown. I do know, however, based on his lack of performance in high school he will need to take remedial courses as first just to get the level of a college course. So that shall prove to be interesting......since it will take longer and cost more.
Also, GWR could have had his education paid for by DH...but alas he has bombed the bridge with DH so bad, DH's comments when I told him about GWR were.....
Well...maybe he will get his life together now. However, he is going to have to take loans because I will NOT be paying for his college education. GWR burned that bridge the minute he decided to go after you. I'm his parent and well I can put up with it..but to go after my wife...nope...consider that a nuclear bomb to the bridge.
So...unless GWR does some major groveling and ammends...he is on his own. Wonder if Beaver or Mr. Beaver Sr will fund this current plan.
Oh and GWR has been looking at and trying to buy a Ford Mustang on his cashiers wages..good luck with that insurance bill. 20 year old and muscle car...CHACHING...

on his own
Excet for Beaver clan. Good on DH for standing firm on boundaries.
Interesting turnaround, or
Interesting turnaround, or maybe glance-around, for him. I've become a big fan of community colleges for helping to develop something, anything, in otherwise lost souls. Let's hope something sticks with GWR.
Love your DH's comment!
Community college
I've always thought CC can be several things: 1) 13th grade for immature people; 2) trade school; 3) the first 2 years of any college in US. And the winner is : #1!
Same here...
although my DS did CC for two years to get all of the crap classes out of the way for way cheaper..then he transferred to the high priced nationally known college for his final year. DS did college in 3 instead of two...but the CC he went to had a program for doing the first two there and then transferring so it was all good.
GWR however is #1.
I did my first 2 at a CC. I
I did my first 2 at a CC. I had to pay college 100% on my own and was able to avoid student loans for the first 2 years. Saved a ton and still got the degree.
I have a friend whose daughter got into a prestigious school but due to covid they had to live on campus and do online school her first year. She dropped out at the end of the 1st semester and went to the local CC where they were doing in person learning. She was struggling being trapped in the dorm but attending online. She is in a transfer program and going back to that school next year now that she has taken what she can at the CC. Saved her parents a boat load!
MY DD would have done the same
if her second choice college hadn't given her a lot of scholarships....( her first choice was over seas...stupid covid). So...really her second choice was really affordable...so she is doing 4 years there. She is getting my monies worth though...double majored with a minor....so there is that.
Hopefully he is doing a trade
Hopefully he is doing a trade school! I know where we live HVAC tech's are starting at $30/hr fresh out of school and go up to $45 regularly! Plumbers, boiler makers, welders- they are all like that! It's insane.
I don't think college is for everyone and that's ok, but a trade still has to be learned!
I would be ever so happy if he would do a trade
but given that precious GWR does not like hard work or getting his hands dirty nor his $100 hoodie dirty I don't see him doing a trade.
My own father was a welder/pipe fitter for 40 years...so I'm all for th trades. A friend of ours is a welder and weld inspector and he makes way over 6 figures a year.
LOL- gotta keep that hoodie
LOL- gotta keep that hoodie clean! I just want to smack some people upside the head...
and the gotta keep the shoes clean
those nike's can't get dirty or creased dontcha know.
