Skids called to wish DH a Happy B-Day...

poisonivy's picture

they left a message because he was in class...

I listened to the message and could hear BM in the background,
"tell your daddy he's getting old."

WTH????????????????????????????????????

Since when are we trading good-humored jabs? We don't like you like that, skank.....

I thought I should call back and say "he may be getting older but you're getting uglier, B$@^H!!!!!!!!!!"

P.O. Box Not Even!

so, I opened our medical insurance claims this morning and saw that BM has been having medical bills for skids put in DHs name at the doctor's, then having the bills forwarded to some PO box that may or may not exist. I was always told that the responsible party is the person accompanying the child to the doctor's and that its up to that person to recoup any out of pocket from the NCP. Am I wrong here, and what suggestions do you guys have?

HMMMMMMMMMMM........

Starfish's blog got me to thinking....

Why is it always "oh, poor kids (skids), they're the product of divorce they need extra attention, lavish vacations, tons of new clothes and toys and don't dare offer them anything except their most favorite foods to eat, they're so fragile, the darlings!"

Survey: Do you........

As a steparent.....do you.....

1. Regret making the decision to marry DH, or
ir you are not yet married, are you re0-thinking the possibility?

2. Ever look forward to visitation with Skids, or if you have full custody, ever wish visitation with BM was much longer and more frequent?

3. Find things to do outside the house when skids come around?

4. Give gifts of equal value to skids as well as bios (birthday, Christmas, etc.)?

5. Bite your tongue when it comes to skid-related issues that affect your household just to avoid arguing?

Can I get THIS MIL???!!!!

I was just talking with a friend of mine (who happens to be the product of a blended family) and she was giving me some insight into her own situation growing up. Her BD had children from his first marriage with a typical, psycho BM. My friend's BM, her BDs current wife, was going through much of the same guilty daddy mess that many of us here are dealing with. The situation got so bad that her mom filed for a divorce....here's the shocker....

Sad Dad Syndrome

I've noticed that lately, whenever DH speaks with skids by phone, after he hangs up, his mood is really sour....I mean like totally depressed. I understand that it must be extremely hard for him not being able to see them whenever he wants, but his change in mood makes this part of his family feel like crap. Last weekend, we were getting ready for a family outing (DH, me, Bios), we had a really fun weekend planned....then the phone rings and its the skids. Well, DH went from absolutely stoked to absolutely unmotivated in 0 to 60. He didn't even participate in the events we'd planned.
