How would you handle this?

So, we are already dealing with issues regarding DH's kids not being in school. DH has filed for a court date to terminate CS payments on SS & I put the CS in the mail this morning paying only 1/2 of the original agreed-upon amount. DH's lawyer advised that with SS being 18 & not enrolled in school 1 1/2 months into the current school year, he begin paying only 1/2 the amount agreed on in the original order.

No word from BM regarding CPS call

DH & I both took off the last 2 days so we could get some things done. He finally got in touch with his lawyer Tuesday. He told DH to stop paying now. Since he's paid 2 months beyond the 18th birthday & into the school year, there will be no chance of arrears. Yesterday, we took DH's paperwork to the courthouse to file an order to stop support on SS.

Dear BM: Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine.

SO, SD's birthday was this past weekend. I blogged previously about BM wanting to meet DH to pick up the CS, so she'd have it for SD's birthday. Well, Friday morning, DH called her cell & left a message to find out whether or not they were going to meet & in return he received a mass of text messages. They came, one right after another as follows:

It blind-sided me. She talked to DH just before she called me & was bitching about CS. Yeah...can you imagine?

It seems she's waiting on more money to show up, & I didn't say anything, but she's already receieved & cashed everything we've sent. I have been mailing the MO's every Monday with the exception of this past Monday. We didn't put a rush on this one because of SS's comment about her using it to buy him liquor. We'll be pulling the cash after work this evening & we'll mail the MO tomorrow morning.

He called Friday evening & said that between BM & her mother, they've managed to scrape together the $50 to order his test that he should've taken at the end of the last school year to start his senior year this year. They're waiting for it to come through the mail.

The woman killed in this story was the daughter of a friend of mine. She has court this morning at 10am to determine custody of her 2 granddaughters. The custody arrangement with the mother & father was the oldest being with the mother & the youngest being with the father. Since this incident, the oldest has been in the custody of my friend & the youngest has been in the custody of the father's parents. My friend is trying to get custody of both girls so that they can grow up together.

So, SS turned 18 a month & 2 days ago. DH has talked to him a number of times about the importance of school & going to college. SS has talked to DH trying to figure out what his options would be available to finance a college eduacation once his Senior year (this year) was over. He's talked about joining the military. We've been trying desparately to get information on DH's family history, as it was suggested to us where if you are 10% American Indian you can get your education paid for.

I was looking for a status update for my FB that expresses exactly what I want to say today. I thought the following would suit so many of our situations perfectly & wanted to share:

Go ahead and get that tattoo, rent isn't due for another week, at least you will look cute.
