This morning when we dropped the children off at daycare SD11 and I had a "moment". I always get out and hug/kiss each child and tell them that I love them and to have a great day. This morning I hugged SD11 and she hugged me for a little longer than usual and looked up at me and smiled. I hugged her a little tighter than usual and smiled right back at her. I know this is a small accomplishment but it sure has made me feel good all day. Now things could have gone to complete crap with them after I left....but at that moment we were good.
My BF's daughter turned 18 and graduated HS in June. He no longer has to legally pay CS. Well this is killing BM. She's coming up with all kinds of extras for him to share in. He is willing to help his daughter in college, but he wants his daughter to talk to him about college, so he doesn't have to deal with BM any longer. His daughter hasn't been over for visitation for over a year now. But that's another story. It just seems like as long as he is giving money and buying gifts, graduation, birthday, she talks to him. But otherwise he can hardly get her to talk to him.
So miss perfect, wonderful, mom of the year, or at least that's what she claims to be when talking to my SO, lets him know last night that their 18 year old son won't graduate high school this year. WTF!!!
For once this has nothing to do with SS or BM. It deals with husband. Both my husband and I have decent jobs. I am a school teacher so I get paid on the first of the month. The majority of our bills come out the first of the month so my check is usually gone but the 5th of every month. Husband get paid weekly. Since it is now the middle of the month I have just informed him that all that the rest of the month's bills are paid except his truck payment and we have only a certain amount in checking for the rest of the month.
I'm at work and 6 1/2 months pregnant, bored and uncomfortable so bear with me, if this is long winded or I just don't make it through the whole story...lol
Okay so I have this shirt that says barbie on it bb saw me in it one day and made the comment about how it fits me perfectly not only that but she has also mentioned how I looked like a barbie on my wedding day..and how I should drive a hot pink bug..no biggie just little comments right???
He also had really unrealistic expectations and ideals about how things would be once we were married and once our own child was born. For example, he told me that when our baby was born I would understand what it would be like to have strong, loving feelings towards not only my own child but his two as well. He also said that when his two children went to go visit their bio mom, ours would go as well. (What I'm wondering is: why the hell did he say that when he knew they would never go visit her anyway?!) Those are just a couple examples, the list goes on and on.
So I read Happy's blog today, and it really touched a nerve. The whole money thing. The sense of entitlement from not only SD, but DH and even BM irritates me.
Okay, so some background first ... during Sunday night's email bashing from Andrea she said to make sure we return Jacob's books. Okay, there were no books. I asked his teacher if she knew anything about it, but she didn't. I looked in Jacob's cubby to see if erik missed anything on Friday, he didn't. There was a shirt that Andrea obviously thought was ours, but it was actually a part of the new clothes we gave Jacob for summer.
