Yesterday BM calls and last minute wants us to take skids so her and boyfriend can finish up their move from tiny one bedroom apartment to new rental house. Normally we would be irked but DH hadn't seen them in awhile - and we planned to go to a carnival in town anyway - so we picked them up.

BM was prancing around the yard in her spandex, looking gaunt and overwhelmed. Skids gave me a huge hug and kiss in front of her which was delightful- SD got me right on the lips. SS tells us in the car that mom's boyfriend "totally lost it" on him because he stayed up too late the night before. DH grew up with the boyfriend (BM doesn't date outside of her high school social circle, even at 34 years old) and he is known as a guy who always hated kids. So, interesting that this is who BM selects as a life partner.

Interesting to me, the fact that the boyfriend plays such a strong part in the kids upbringing and discipline but me, as the wife and stepmother, I am crucified by BM if I even attempt to paint SD's nails... the hypocrisy is so extreme with that woman. If I ever "lost it" on the kids, the bitch would make a huge court case out of it.

Anyway, the skids announced from the backseat of the car that they give it a year of this house and then they will move again. Also, they cried about going to a new school... 3 schools in 5 years. Stability isn't BM's strong suit.

BM is quick to call me an "idiot" for being with my husband, but has chosen a miserable, short fused asshole as a boyfriend. Talk about throwing stones while living in a glass house.

I upped my antidepressant so I am sitting in a comfortable daze, but I am also contemplating bringing this to our lawyer's attention. Not sure if it is worth it?
