Skids could seriously F up a wet dream
I know I shouldn't be irritated by this, but I am anyway. This morning, Skids got it into their heads that they wanted to make me breakfast for some damn reason. 4 eggs, 2 burnt bread thins, and one HUGE mess later, the result was a total hot mess and a smoke-filled kitchen. Not the things to leave a PMS-ing (really badly) step-mom who has already told you to stop doing things. Period. DH wasn't too happy either. I didn't even eat it. They wound up eating it because I had to shut myself in the bedroom to keep from going off. So there. I'm the bitch who shits all over the skids for doing something nice. And today, I. Don't. Care.

Eh, if you told them to stay
Eh, if you told them to stay out, you have a right to be annoyed. Who got to clean up the mess? It isn't "nice" if the maid gets to clean up after the "thoughtful gesture."
btw, like I told DH way back in the day, eggs, bacon, and toast is one of THE toughest things to get on the table hot and not burned; the last 2 minutes are critical, and if you're not REALLY on top of it, something's going to go wrong.
The mess is still in
The mess is still in existence and it's now been almost 8 hours. I refuse to clean it up. I was mostly annoyed because they screwed up too many times and wasted, like, 1/4 of my food trying to get it the least wrong they could. I'm not a super picky eater, but the one thing I require is my eggs and toast to be a certain way. I like barely toasted bread and my eggs over easy. Toast black, eggs f-ed beyond reason. I've actually told them about 100 times that I don't like people helping me unless I ask for help...and that goes for most people because I'm one of those "the only way to get it done right is to do it yourself" kind of people, it's not just that I don't want help from them specifically. It's the same reason I don't like surprises all that well. I'm sure it's being a control freak. But really, they seriously manage to screw up most of the things they're trying to do to "be nice." The biggest problems are that A) they don't listen EVER, and SS11 is one of those people who try to be way TOO helpful. I don't even say things I need to do out loud anymore because if I do, the next thing is SS11 is practically shoving me out of the way saying, "I'll do it, I'll do it!" Then when I tell him no, that I want to do it myself, there's, "But I WANT to! I WANT to!" Inevitably, I end up having to get in his face to get him to back off, and then he ends up in tears. So really, there's a constant blanket statement for them to stay out, but they always ignore it, so I don't really feel that bad about being annoyed.
