BEST NEWS EVER- And I almost had a heart attack just now.

So, kids are home today. It's summer break. Not a peep from BM this weekend. She has turned to harassing her parents about helping her see SS now. Of course they all refuse.

I get a text from my oldest a few minutes ago "Where is SS?".

What do you mean???

"I mean, I can't find him".

My heart nearly popped out of my chest. I called her. She says she has looked everywhere and can't find him His phone is on his bed. I am telling her to look EVERYwhere, outside, in the garage, in the bathrooms, my bedroom. EVERYWHERE. Finally I hear her say "FOUND HIM, he was hiding in my room".

I literally though BM came and took him away.

So... after I stopped crying, because that literally scared the living CRAP out of me. I screenshot my daughters text and sent it to DH. I let him sweat it for a minute. He called me panicked. Just like I called DD. Told him that they found him, he was hiding.

Then said NOW can we go get this taken care of legally??

YES! FINALLY.

I have been a lurker for awhile and have been following your story. I'm glad that this finally served as the wake up call your DH needed to get custody arrangements handled legally! I can't imagine how panicked you were!!

Ahhhh who would have thought the kid himself would be the one to convince your DH to take care of business. Haha. I'm glad he was home and just messing with your oldest. I did that with my brothers when I was younger as well.

I am glad everything was okay, but THIS is precisely why I have been so in favor of going to court and tying this up the right way.

Let's say your nightmare scenario had actually been true - she would have been in the wind with SS and there would have been NOTHING preventing her from taking him.

Print the necessary documents out and deliver them to your DH with a big offer of help in getting this shit done.

It's time....
