It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.
This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.
We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.
We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.

I don't get why people do this! I mean BM posts all sorts of indirect things about unfair people and how badly she is treated but when she was dating there were drunken arguments posted and then deleted the next day.

Ha. Well, she hasn't even started that yet. She says she starts on the 14th. Only time will tell. Her mom and her stepmom BOTH told me this weekend that she was out of her mind.

running off into the woods in the middle of a storm? talking to invisible people at 3a in the front yard? barricading herself in someone's bathroom while screaming that everyone is out to get them? anything of these sorts?

ETA - if the bm was "lucid" enough to "remember" it "happening" then i doubt that was psychosis yet, probably more just an out-there story for attention-seeking. JUST my opinion. what i've seen is that they're reluctant to discuss any "episodes" since their brain is not functioning normally, let alone recount for someone else what was happening during an episode. but i could be wrong.
She wasn't lucid when she
She wasn't lucid when she told me about it. She was completely loaded off her ass. I can't remember the last time I spoke to her and thought "she's sober". It's been years.
I don't know what she does.
I don't know what she does. We don't see her. I have seen her walking down the street talking to herself. And I have listened to her ramble when she is loaded. None of it makes any sense and she laughs at herself at things that are really NOT funny, in fact she laughs at the things that are really disturbing.
