Spring break is getting so close and I’m so excited. We “let it slip” that we are going the zoo over spring break. The kids quickly chimed in about how much they enjoyed the zoo we’ve been to. Yep we’ll let them keep thinking that. Really we are going on a longer trip with “the zoo” being only one tiny bit of our plans.

Work is scaring me though. We’re about to expand and despite everything I’ve said they are just now realizing we HAVE to hire at least 1 more person. They have been trying every which way they can to avoid this but I knew as soon as they announced the expansion we would have to hire. No not only are they going to have to but since they have refused to I’m going on vacation the day after we expand and there is no one to fill my slot. Oops. Not my fault, not my problem.

I’ve had these plans in place since November with deposits for rooms placed then. There is no way to cancel or change. SO put in his request off back last year. My works crazy so there was no way to put in an official request off BUT part of the hours I’m using are from my holiday pay and if I don’t use them when I am they are lost completely. I just keep reminding them and they just keep saying “we’ll figure it out.” Well ya better.

Other than work impacting my anxiety though this is going to be amazing. This is really my first vacation since I started working in my profession. So around 10 years with nothing like this. Sure I’ve taken days off before but this is a real trip. SO and I worked very hard to slowly put back the money to pay for this.  It’s as much for me and him as it is the kids.
