Facebook, Cars and Cellphones, Oh My!
Well. I'm considering running away and joining Harry Potter at Hogwarts...The past couple weeks have been less than magical. The week I took off for my birthday, DH's car ended up taking the road to 300 Heaven. There were so many things wrong with that car when he bought it but NOOOOO he totally needed to have a manhood car that could double as a yacht. So we ended up buying a brand spankin' new 2013 Kia Optima. I told DH I was done with these used cars he bought from this shady little ghetto lot. This is his 4th car in 5 years. The Grand Prix killed out only 1 year after he bought it. Then there was the Expedition, which killed out 1 year after he got it. Then there was the 300 which lasted a whopping 3 years! So I told him no more of these cars with baggage, and I went and signed the papers and got the loan for the Kia. I told him that since he will be using it mostly, that he has to make the loan payments (only 480.00 a month, which is 100.00 less than what he was paying for the 300).
Right along with the car debacle, I somehow managed to either contract Lyme disease or I am allergic to bullshit. Starting that week and up until now I have had these large, red, itchy, painful, bug bite looking marks. It started with one on my right elbow 3 weeks ago, then it moved to my left calve, then to my right hip. And now, 3 weeks after the first one, the one on my elbow has returned with a vengence. A friend who is a nurse believes it is hives and that I've developed an allergy to something I wasn't allergic to before. (I haven't changed any soaps, lotions, detergents, etc.)
And this brings me to the question of the week, during my week off (which wasn't really a week off with all that crap), SD asks DH for a cellphone...Um, you're 7. I didn't get my first cellphone until I was 14 and could pay for it myself...That and SD never leaves DH's side when she is here...EVER. She's practicaly welded to his ass the entire time she's at our place. So why is a cellphone necessary?? Oh! I got it! BM can't keep her little pay as you go phone on for more than 3 minutes because they keep buying more and more crap (pool table, foosball table, etc). So I am sure with BM feeling all upset about me being alive, she thought if we got SD a cellphone on OUR plan, she could use the cellphone and not have to pay for it. ROFL. No. Not going to happen. Even if we ever do get SD a cellphone, she won't be taking the one WE pay for to her mom's. Never ever.
When she got her final answer, which was HELL NO, she had a SECOND question. She wants a Facebook...Smh...Seriously? Again, you are 7. There is no way in hell anyone is going to allow you to have FB. Except maybe your demented mother.
Not to mention she isn't even supposed to be ON a computer for anything other than school since she is still on lockdown. Which by the way, lockdown, only seems to half work. Just like any other time, it is sometimes ok and sometimes awful. I do have to admit that so far things ARE better than they were. By a very, very small fraction.
I am soooo unmotivated today. Nap please!

Wow, doesn't it seem like the
Wow, doesn't it seem like the crap never ends? lol I hear you about the car... A few weeks ago we went to a nice little hotel/B&B overlooking the rainforest. We went on an ATV tour, horseback riding through the rainforest, etc...we had an awesome view and thought "this is what we need to relax after the last CS fiasco"...Guess what? In the evening, as we showered and got ready to go to dinner to a nice local restaurant, when DH tried to start his car, HE COULD NOT MOVE steering wheel! lol Here we were on the top of a freaking mountain and no car...hehe...I almost died. Thankfully, we go to a restaurant also owned by the hotel often and the manager there and waiters came and picked us up and then called their friends to fix our car, etc...sigh...but still, it seems that if it's not one thing, it's always another...I hear ya!
Anyway, about the cell phone, that's hilarious. Do they REALLY think we are stupid? I guess so. No, you are right, no 7yr old needs a cell phone...heck, I think MOST people don't really need it, not even teens. I was a teen and never needed a darn cell phone...plenty of other kids who have them and if there is a TRUE EMERGENCY, you can always find someone to let you use theirs...lol If it's to chit chat, talk while at home...just like you PEE before you go out...plan ahead lol
Good luck...know that it really doesn't seem to end, especially until the kids are 18...after that, it ends for the most part for those who have boundaries...of course, if your DH has no boundaries, it never ends...
Have a good day! Enjoy your new car!
I can't wait until she's
I can't wait until she's 18....I'm deadbolting the doors, turning off all the lights and making DH call her and tell her we moved to Timbuktu. Or maybe with her mental illness & BM/SF's influence she'll be in prison by then.
I'm going to hell for that aren't I? }:)
