SD14 is by far the most rational and mature person in BM's household. So I guess after some reflection she determined that she had overreacted to the haunted house disappointment and reached out to H to apologize. According to her, there were two full days of hysteria on BM and SD16's parts about the situation. She said that SD16 wouldn't even get out of bed on Monday and BM let her stay home from school because she was so upset. So, needless to say that SD16's future is looking really promising. H is of course mortified that he's raised someone with so little resilience but he seems to have accepted that it's too late to course correct with her. I still love her very much, but I have to say that I'm relieved that we're separated and I have a legitimate excuse to have space from her. I predict she'll end up boomeranging to live with H after a semester of college because she won't be able to handle it and that probably would have doomed our marriage anyway. She is turning out exactly like BM, despite all of our efforts. I feel like it was all such a waste of time and energy.

In other news, SD14 also asked if she could come hang out with DD this week (H is out of town) and I told him to say no. I've never declined for her to spend time with her sisters before, but their behavior lately has been so atrocious and toxic that I just don't trust them around her and I don't want to be in the position of supervising their visits because it could only be turned around to make me look like the bad guy. So they'll have to wait until H has time to oversee that whole thing. So sad for DD, but I have to protect her as much as I can.
