I Have Lost All Hope for Ann

After everything she told me the other day about how Hottie isn't working, Sailor Talk kicked her son and left a bruise, her son has been withdrawn, and Hottie doesn't parent, Ann is right back to business as usual. She took none of my advice and ignored her gut. This morning she came into work talking about...you guessed it...those darling little cherubs. She spent the night at Hottie's because today is spring school picture day, and Sailor Talk wanted Ann to help her get ready. Ann went on and on about the cute outfit she picked out, how she did ST's hair, gave her some lip gloss, blah blah blah. Whenever she stays there, she leaves little notes for the kids in their lunches, and was almost in tears when she told me that they left little notes for her in her purse. How sweet! :sick: Meanwhile, her own kid spent the night at her parents'.

I'm over it. She can go down the rabbit hole like the rest of us. Dickmatization is complete.

Dad left when he was less than a year old. He lives 2 hours away and sees him only a few times a year.

Was she drinking the other night when you went out for dinner? Sometimes our true feelings come out more easily after a couple of drinks and now she has sobered up she is back to living her fantasy and not interested in acknowledging the down sides.

You nailed it, Heaven. BM never has cared about that sort of thing, apparently. And it was Hottie's custody time, but whatever. STM IS the daughter Ann's always wanted. It's scary how they even look alike. I'm glad Ann can manage to live in a fantasy world- she's going to need that soon when her son chooses to go live with his dad even though he can't stand him. I'd probably do the same.

And you know, Chris is a super sweet, funny kid. I've known him since he was a toddler. Ann has always been a super doting mom...until she met Hottie. I don't understand how you do a complete 180 on your own kid like that. I guess the thrill of her "new daughter" will wear off eventually, but it may be too late for the relationship with her REAL kid.

DH can dickmatize me day and night (and has LOL), but no amount of dickmatization will make me be fake and fawn all over the skids. :sick:

Yep - I, too, suffer from dickmatization, but it does not influence me to think that my skids are not the filthy creatures they are...

Yes it is super sad that Chris is watching this, feeling what he is obviously feeling, and his "doting mother", cannot seem to spread her love around to encompass everyone. Tunnel-vision, anyone?

I do not pretend to understand, however I am not in her position. All I know is what I am living and what I am trying to live, where MY head is at.

But by all accounts, Ann is doing all things right by THEM (hottie, sailor, other kid), and all things wrong by her son. And wonders why the long face on Son. For a kid that is 9, going through all the things he has gone through and is going through, my heart breaks on his behalf. He probably is so confused!

Thank goodness for the grandparents, hopefully they are strong pillars for him during this really tough time.

Ok. Something is wrong with her if she neglects her own child in favor of one who has left a bruise on that very same child. And all for a man who is unemployed and "too good" to work.

Yeah, something is wrong with her. I'm beginning to think part of it is she desperately wanted a daughter. So now she's "got" one and she gets to play dress up with her, etc. So much more fun than tending to her own kid who is just a boy and last year's model at that.

She has a screw loose.

The shiny will wear off at about the year mark when the realization sets in on what a s&#t show she involved herself in. Happiness will be replaced by all the toxic resentment that will ooze in. She will get tired of being an ATM and feeling obligated to take care of everyone to keep them all happy.

A lot of us have been Ann - ignoring the red flags and desperately trying to please a man who doesn't deserve it. With my exDH , I went all in. I helped him pay his bills/debt, legal bills and paid for pretty much everything. I felt sorry for him , he was divorced and broke. I saw what I wanted to see and so is Ann. For me the switch flipped when I got tired of never being exDH's equal and partner. Also because it became expected of me to pay for everything , instead of it being my choice. I can't believe what an idiot I had been. I wanted to love and be loved and I wanted to "save" him and get the fairy tale ending.

Ann will wish she had listened to you.

Ann is beyond desperate for another child, particularly a girl. This particular girl looks very similar to Ann and has a "fiery" personality like her, and could easily pass for her child. Ann's been searching a long time for a new baby daddy candidate, and Hottie's the first one that's stuck around more than a few weeks. She used to gush about her own kid. He was utter perfection in her eyes. But now I hear nothing about anyone other than Trash Mouth Mary. I wonder what'll happen when Ann (VERY unwisely) has her baby with Hottie, and it's a girl? Buh-bye Mary! Have fun with the attitude that'll come from that!

OK so was I the ONLY one who caught the kids putting cutesy notes IN HER PURSE? So what next? Taking a couple of quarters? "Borrowing' lip gloss? Yeah Anne wants a little girl to dress up and play with. And OMG this one doesn't need batteries and looks JUST LIKE ME! Poor Chris. Sad
