End to free Netflix for skid
At this point I hate skid24, after his big melt down when he left, the way he treats DH (and me) and he is such an NPD user. When he left he said he wanted nothing and nothing to do with DH.
However he still uses the free jam space for his band, gym membership and our Netflix account. DH would never think of turning off the taps on skid even after all that happened.

Skid has not used the Netflix account since leaving in April until he moved out from wherever he was living into his own place. I saw that he started using the account on June 26th and since I know he is terrible with saving passwords, I signed out of all devices. If I changed the password DH would have got an email and would text it to skid.
He hasn’t used it since. He has an email address that is through our cable and internet provider and it said a new Netflix account was created with his email address through our provider today and with our cable/ internet account number you can receive 3 months free. Not giving that to skid. But it felt good to delete skid’s profile off our account so I don’t have to look at his picture and his name.
Sometimes it’s the little things that make me happy.
Also I canceled my gym membership which his was under at a discounted rate, coming out of our account. I now have a corporate membership without skid.

The gravy train has just hit the buffers, SS24 haha.
Awwww, poor baby gonna have
Awwww, poor baby gonna have to grow up and get his own accounts and memberships.
Perfect way to handle it, he
Perfect way to handle it, he'll never know it didn't just reboot and log itself out, and he won't dare ask for the password.
I did the same.
I did the same. A Netflix account is only $15. It will not kill them to pony up that much. For those who would say that it costs me nothing to let them piggy-back on the account I would reply that they have to start somewhere in paying their own way and it is not my responsibility to provide them with free movies.
It costs them in dignity and
It costs them in dignity and a sense of independence. Little things like this are just another type of apron string.
Exactly.
Exactly. The more things they just take for granted - like water coming out when you turn on the faucet - the less they are in touch with the reality that life costs money and they have to make their own way. If their mother had her way, and DH too if I am being honest, there would be these kind of invisible ties with them forever. Having to call and get passwords means at least one guaranteed call, doesn't it?
Well, and in OP's case, why
Well, and in OP's case, why provide freebies for a skid who treats you both like garbage?
I hate when adult kids have
I hate when adult kids have their parents paying their bills like that. I understand if they're financially struggling, or a student etc. But just having them paying the bill so they don't have to is taking the piss. SS25 still has DH paying his mobile phone contract every month. Bearing in mind this guy is financially fine, has his own flat and a full time job; there's no need for Dada to still be paying for him. And he wouldn't speak to DH for 2 years, refused to come to our wedding, refused to meet our son, who he still hasn't met and he's almost 9 months. He's only just started talking to DH again after MIL and FIL gave him a stern talking to. We already have to fork out £400 a month in child support to SD8 that BM just spends on herself and then asks for more. We don't need another financial leech too; especially one who is too self absorbed to speak to his own father. It really boils my piss, especially when we have a baby to pay for.
This is great!
This is great!
A little OT, but this reminds me of when DH gave his mommy and daddy the password info to access our Netflix account, unbeknownst to me. All of a sudden, one day there’s a TON of Jesus Hallmark type made for TV movies on our “list” in our Netflix account. It was my southern baptist hypocrite FIL who added them - so I deleted all of them. I made it a personal mission to clear anything he added, on a daily basis. It was fun there for a few, but I ultimately changed the log-in info.
That was how I
That was how I found out DH had given the password to the skids again. They were smart enough not to put anything on my list but when we were looking for something to watch and DH was scrolling through his list there were all sorts of things that he never would have put there in a million years. The next morning I reset the password and said nothing to him about it. He danced around it a few times, asking me if something "was wrong with Netflix." I always answered that it was working perfectly as far as I could tell. *air_kiss*
