Bat finally signed over custody to us yesterday after hearing from both counties about having to sign the notarized paper. SD15 seems to be adjusting well to our home but I know that this is only the honeymoon period and the real SD15 will come out soon. I just hope I am prepared.

We had a family meeting last night and went over the family rules as well as both SD15 and DD5 chores list. It seemed to go well and at least we are all on the same page for now.

In other news Bat seems to be competing for Mother of the Year now. She called SD15 for the first time in over a week to tell her that she redid her room including replacing the carpet and buying her a new comforter. Plus she scheduled a facial for her on Saturday afternoon and bought her new makeup. SD15 was told all of this before Bat signed the paper. I think that Bat was hoping she would change her mind.

I have a feeling Bat knows that SD15 is going to be in a healthier situation with our family but is feeling guilty about how things happened.

SD15 goes for her visit with the Bat this weekend. Bat promised that step dad isn't going to around all weekend. I hope all goes well on that front.

I am coming to terms with this being a full time situation. I know that there are days that I will long for how it used to be. I am just taking it day by day and not trying to be Mom but just step mom with DH doing most of the heavy parenting.
