Just one of those things that makes me want to attack BF with kisses...
BF and I have been looking to move into a bigger place.
A little background: We live in a studio that can't be more than 400sqft, but the size isn't so much a problem as the humidity in there. It just retains moisture; this leads to mold. I am a neat freak and I cringe and break out the Clorox anytime I see little dots of mold beginning to form. Plus we have no oven--just two stove-top burners and the bbq, and our fridge is one of those mini ones that go in an office/dorm room. And it would be so nice to not have to go to the laundry-mat every Sunday... A bedroom for the skids would be nice too, since right now they have an air mattress that's pretty close to our bed. It forced us to get familiar pretty quick!
ANYWAY, we found a place that has most everything we need, but it's only a one bedroom. When I wasn't sure because there wouldn't be a room for the skids, BF said, "Well, I don't mean to sound cruel, but we can't plan our lives around them. Even in a normal [first] marriage, you can't plan your lives around the kids because eventually they're going to grow up and go out on their own. Then they're gone and we're still together." Oh sweetie. I agree, but I'm so glad you said it and not me.
I think we'll be moving to that place soon... We decided that we can get a fold-out couch for the kids (better than an air mattress!). It's not a permanent place, and the kids are still young enough that they don't really need their own separate rooms. Besides, we only have them EOWE, so it would be extra space that wouldn't be used most of the time, but we'd still have to pay the extra rent for it. When we find a more permanent place we will be sure to get them their own rooms.

thats kind of what me and dh
thats kind of what me and dh are dealing with now here! we moved in with my mother to save money and she does have 3 bedrooms, but the spare room is FILLED with stuff, basically used for storage. and sd is only here EOWE too and shes 6, so she's been sleeping on the floor in our room. She has had her own room when we had a 2 bedroom apt, i think eventually we will have to clean out that other room and atleast put a mattress down because when sd goes to sleep, its hard to 'keep quiet' in our room with her. My mom doesnt have a sofa either, just 2 recliners in the living room. glad your bf said it for you so you didnt have to
