Semi-Cheesey Alert: Really Good Weekend

helena_brass's picture

This weekend I spent a LOT of time with FSD, and FSS told me he loved me. I really have nothing at all negative to report.

FSD always wants to volunteer with me on Saturdays, because it's with the cats at the animal shelter. This weekend I said okay. She was actually really good with it. She helped clean and socialize, didn't complain at all--heck, she didn't even stop to eat, even though we were there for four hours and her dad packed her a lunch. She even got scratched by a cat (scared me because it scratched her face, near her eye), but didn't cry and just kept on going. I was really proud of her.

When we left we went to the grocery store to get a few things for dinner, and when we got home she wanted to help me make dinner. I was amazed. Even when we got home she wanted to hang out and help me. Wow.

Then that night FSS gave me a new nickname and said he loved me.

I don't know what happened this weekend, but there must have been roses in the air or something. I'm still a little thrown. My birthday is this week, so I guess I can count all this as a birthday present. It really was better than any item they could give me.

Sorry guys, please don't barf. Blum 3

Thank you! This weekend was such an unexpected joy, and I definitely hope we can continue on the same foot the next time we have the kids. It makes me sad that we won't have them for Thanksgiving the first year we have an oven big enough to cook a turkey.

Thank you for sharing my happiness!
