i'm sorry but i agree, facebook is so big that it's almost public, no matter how your profile is set. that would be public degrading or falsification-which IS illegal AND he violated the court order. he wasn't supposed to talke hear or say anything about it/her, and he DID.

he was stupid to post ANYTHING about his hearing on facebook PERIOD to begin with if he wants something to vent to, he needs to create a blog on word that is only seen by computer users. hell, i wouldn't even do that.

AND that just goes to show that you should NEVER post anything on facebook that you don't want THE WORLD knowing such as hating someone else, or planned vacations when and where, etc.

I also agree. He violated the CO. There is no order regarding disparaging remarks in DH's order, but there should be.

As many times as I've wanted to post something bitchy or sarcastic...or even true about BM for everyone around me to see, I wouldn't dare. For one, the kids don't need to read my thoughts regarding their mother. For another, I'd be concerned about what it could lead to in court.

One lesson too many people don't learn till it's too late is that if you wouldn't say it to or in the company of a particular person...be it a judge, BM, kids, parents, lawyer...whoever, you don't put it in writing.

Wow! No wonder we are losing all our rights. Funny, I have a feeling most who agree would be screaming if your were put in jail for the things you say here about the skids and the crazy ex. hmmm

I think the courts usually order people not to talk about ongoing custody cases or the other spouse to protect the kids, not the adults. It isn't a freedom of speech or public interest issue if the kids involved in the fight are going to read this kind of hostile stuff posted about the other parent.

I would guess the judge here got annoyed that the son referred to in the FB post would likely read his dad's comments about his mom and the court battle. Let's face it, if skids are over age 9 or 10, it is highly likely they are internet savvy and can easily access this kind of stuff.

I think this point is often missed when we talk about privacy on ST or elsewhere. It is not about the BM reading what you say...it is the skids. In the psycho ex-wife case, the judge shut the blog down not because the kids would be able to read the stuff the dad was posting about their mom. I don't think it was to protect the mom at all.

Like a lot of us, I don't give a shit if BM reads what I say about her and I'm quite sure the BM in this story is a huge bitch and the dad was telling the truth about her...but I still don't think it was right to post that where his son could read it. As much as I detest BM, I wouldn't want my skids reading my opinions of her or details of the court stuff involving them. It just isn't right or fair to put that out there where the children in the middle can easily access it and I think the courts are right to stop that when it happens. JMHO.
