OT-Fathers who sleep with their kids...interesting study...as I know MANY here are 100% against it
So, I read this scientific study today and thought about StepTalk, as I know that is a VERY HOT topic here. Mind you, I do NOT believe that ESPECIALLY fathers should be sleeping with their kids if the parents are divorced because there is a VERY HIGH probability that the crazy BM will make up some BS abuse story and well, I don't think it's worth putting OUR families in danger...But, for your OWN bios, those who want your husband to BOND and take better care of YOUR kids together, here is something to consider...

and here is the first study about men/kids done

PS - I bet you this will create lots of controversy here, but I have to say, that I do agree 100% with the study...our son slept with us for years and I have to say I believe it has been a great benefit to both him and mostly our son in many ways...just my opinion...

agreed. study smchudy! I
agreed. study smchudy! I thought it was gross and not right as a teen watching my 3 younger sibs sleep with dad and sm (which would be their 3 bios) when these kids were 5, 4 and 2.
it just isn't right.
Hmmmm. Well, I'd LOVE for
Hmmmm. Well, I'd LOVE for y'all to come over to my house & SEE the ramifications of this co-sleeping thing, in my DD8!!!! I'm absolutely SURE you might change your minds!!!!
Got divorced in 2008. In MY home, my daughter has always slept in her own room, her own bed since infancy. When my Ex moved out & into the home he still lives in-it was much easier for him to allow our daughter to sleep in his room, his bed (he can never say no to her).
Now she is 8 yrs old. Let me tell you all what this has put us ALL thru!!! She is scared to sleep alone in her bed now. If she wakes in the night (my house) she totally freaks out & panicks!!!!!! It's is not unusual for her to come wake me up-- up to FOUR times a night!!!! (she is at her dads 3x a week- overnights). She has not been getting an adequate amount of good solid sleep- because of her bio-daddy's non cooperative co-sleeping with her.
It's caused Me some big issues as my DH would like his wife to obviously be in bed with him at night!!! It's messed with my sex life as well. My DH luckily is understanding & loves my little girl. But enough is enough!!!!!!!! My ex also has had relationship problems because of his inability to PARENT & not put in that hard work of getting her to sleep Alone in her bed!!!!!!!!
Now- my saving grace was last week at the Pediatricians office!!!!!!!! My DD8 had an appt last week & my ex met us at the doctors. The Dr noticed my DD8 looked tired & inquired about her sleeping. I told the whole truth about how he lets her sleep in his bed. Let me tell y'all what the Dr said as she looked directly into my Exs face "time to be a PARENT & not try to be her best buddy"!!!! She gave him hell- let me tell you!!!!!!! She told him he was being a Lazy parent!!!!
Well......my daughter is now sleeping in her own bed now at her Dads. He apologized to me & now we are working together to change her sleeping issues. He even Admits- it was just easier for Him to let her sleep with him.
So, plz think long & hard about co-sleeping with your kiddos after the age of 1. Or you'll be going thru what we are!!!
Steppin up- I see absolutely
Steppin up- I see absolutely nothing wrong in what your doing. My opinion was meant more for the parents who co sleep beyond infancy. I rocked my little girl to sleep often when she was real young. Enjoy it!!
