I WON! Help me think of something for "ME" this Christmas??

Okay.
I'm kind of freaking out.
I just won $400 at work to be given to me in gift-card form, the only catch is it has to be from certain vendors like "Bed-Bath-and-Beyond" or 'Target' etc.
If I do a gift card for a restaurant I know I will end up "sharing" with DH and ss. My practical side says get a sears gift card and buy a new dryer.
That is no fun.
I want to spoil myself FOR ONCE.
I know Dh would do the SAME THING if he won.
I know I am getting nothing for Christmas.
I kind of want a new gas stove. My burners play "Russian roulette" when I try to light them (try to light the front one, back one turns on instead, etc) and I LOVE baking and cooking! I want to make Italian Christmas Shortbread cookies but my greedy warthog of a cousin-in-law will not share his family recipe. (he is awesome, no hard feelings Blum 3 )
What is the biggest "splurge" you got yourself with NO regrets? Do you still have said item?

I am going to buy myself a Nintendo Switch this Christmas. Oh yes I am. and I'm going to play Zelda probably for the entire year cause I am a mother of four kids with very little free time. HECK YES Spoil yourself!!!!!!! No one else will.

My brother bought one last month "for his son" for Christmas. He gave it to him the day it came in. He only bought it because they have Zelda. Biggrin

Do it! A new stove sounds magical!!!

I got myself my used and cheap car... That's about it... Never really spoiled myself. LOL But I still have it! And it's going NOWHERE (until it dies or I can afford a Jeep Wrangler Wink )

Honestly though I hate winter (I have RA from many hours standing on concrete at my old warehouse jobs) my favorite part is the drinking of the wine while baking goodies. If I keep the receipt I will take the stove with if anything happens }:)

How wonderful for you!!! I never have a regret about a purchase...I am worth it and you are too!! Start a list and help narrow down what you want. If I have extra money and want a splurge, I usually window shop for a while and collect the things I want on a list. Can't buy them all but it is interesting to go back to the list later on and wonder why I had some of the things on there to begin with....all about priorities and what is going to make you happy!

I am really excited for you!!!!

Get the stove. The one you have sounds like it could be dangerous. If you do get the stove get one with a convection oven.

The one I have came with the house. I really like it. It has a black glass top with 4 gas burners. It is so easy to keep it clean. I'd had an electric glass top - but I didn't know they made them for gas too.

I love video games and every person I've ever been with does too. Video games are welcome in our home and the kids are allowed to play with supervision. Like this past week they both got an hour each. One on the tablet one on the xbox.

Anyways my biggest splurges where always on video game systems and I've never regretted them. I still have all of the systems I got in college and play them regularly. This is a major hobby for me and my partner. Both of us play to chill out, he plays with his military buddies who have since moved out of state, we play with the children, and we use it as a reward for them.

While this may not work for you I am saying look at your hobbies. If you like baking then get the gas stove. Not only does it match your hobby which will serve you in the long run it is useful for the whole family so you have a built in excuse.....

It may sound like joking but I called my game systems a school expenses when I got them in college.... I really did use them for classwork and research which I did present to my peers both in class and professional.

Personally, if I had a choice, I'd do a nice hotel, a massage and a facial and a wonderful dinner by myself. IF I didn't have to share. In reality I'd bring DH to the hotel and dinner.

Shop around for stoves, we got a good, not great, gas stove/oven and it's pretty amazing. I think it was around $800. Don't cheap out. If $400 won't cover it then I'd do a BB&B spending spree.

He// yes you should spoil yourself!

Buy the stove if that's what you really want.

I spoil myself with trips. I take off with girlfriends for a spa weekend or a backpack trip to Mexico. For me being spoiled is an experience, not a thing. A massage, an amazing outrageously priced restaurant, a gondola ride up a mountain.

If you get a Target card you can use that to buy a VISA gift card, and then buy whateva, whereva, with your $400.

My biggest splurge was for beauty: I got laser hair removal treatments and Genesis on my face.

But you should get the stove! I'm so happy something great happened to you!!! You soooo deserve it!
