:jawdrop: BM does this almost every summer and it irks me.

SD came over lastnight for her two hour visit. And DD did tell her about our train ride, but SD didn't say a word about it. Good thing. So, I'm in the bath room giving BS2 a bath and SD walks in and says "HI!!!!" SUPER EXCITED. I turned around and omg-HER HAIR IS CUT OFF! Ugh. I could barely contain myself and I just said Hi and had to turn around before I blurted out something I couldnt take back.

BM took SD to get her hair cut, which she always does in the summer. She used to get it super short, but SD said she likes it longer now. It has never been past her shoulder blades. I guess when BM took SD for a trim, somehow SD left with a freaking BOB!
Sad I'm so upset. SD seems somewhat happy about. I'm assuming because with shorter hair she thinks she doesn't have to take care of it or wash it.

As long as SD is happy then I'm happy for her, but SD has the most beautiful hair. It's unhumanly thick! lol Thicker than mine and DD5 put together. She looks so pretty with long hair. Sad

My hair is super duper thick and caring for it drives me crazy. You aren't the one with headaches as it gets heavier and sweaty around the back of your neck. And then it gets a case of the frizzies as the humidity climbs. It is hrrible to cope with heavy HEAVY hair in summer. Your scalp sweats and you feel like you are wearing a helmet. And that is even if you have it tied up!

I have to wash it every few days and dry it and straighten it and then put serum in it so I can handle it. Then I have to style it and hope it holds until I get to work. 1 out of 5 days is a good hair day.

So what you find gorgeous your SD may find a pain to deal with and horrible to cope with in summer. And it is only hair. It will grow back. I have found having thick hair is faster growing than thinner hair.

I agree -- I also have very thick hair, and very wavey at that. Ugh. I wash, dry, serum, straighten, re-serum EVERY DAY. I had very short hair all my life until about 5 years ago when I let it grow down past my shoulders. Kept it that way until a year ago and then got it all cut off again. PP is right -- hot hot hot in the summer!! and a biznotch to keep looking halfway decent. I have so much hair it takes 20 min to dry, and another 20 to straighten. My DD also has thick hair, and it's curly so it always looks wild no matter what she does (there's no way, even with today's technology, that she can straighten it and keep it looking good). I agree -- it'll grow back.
