It's a skid weekend. It is also that time of year where all the freaking extracurricular activities get out of control. I hate skid activities.

In the past, BM signed the skids up for several activities without even consulting DH. He had to plan every single weekend around kid games. He was in a lose-lose situation. He didn't want to be the one to tell the kids that they can't participate in an activity they were interested in but he also wanted to keep it reasonable, 1 activity at a time per kid. Also, when BM did this without consulting him, she was basically making plans for all of OUR weekday evenings and weekends as well as her own. DH faithfully carted kids around on his time but he didn't go to all the games that fell on BM's time. Between the two kids, there was something going on 3-4 nights during the week and multiple games every single weekend. Some of the games even overlapped on the weekends. Because we work and we make time for each other when he doesn't have his kids, he chose not to go to every single game like she does. She spun it as him not caring about their lives. I spun it as her not caring about their education...it was not unusual for baseball games to go well past 11pm on a school night. These were 4th and 5th graders. It was actually shocking to me that coaches and parents allowed this to happen. :?

Anyway, it's that time of year again. Last year I sat around the house by myself every time he went to a game, just waiting for him to get back. Sometimes the games started late and ended late and I regretted not doing something for myself during that time. I refuse to do that this year. I am going to do something fun this weekend. Something that will make him jealous. Not jealous as in I'm out flirting around, but jealous because it would be something he likes to do too.

I'm thinking about a trip out of town. That would kill him. Do any of you do this? Not just making plans but passive aggressively making plans? }:)
