Acting as your own attorney

How hard is it to defend yourself without an attorney in the family court system? we have spent almost $30,000 for skid and it's probably not going to end

If you're going up against an attorney, I wouldn't recommend it.
I also think it might be time to weigh the costs/benefits to spending that kind of money on court battles. Sad

Not if you're looking to win. Judges frown on you when you don't have a Lawyer representing you.

BM is the one that ALWAYS takes us to court. Last year it was because my husband had a medical issue right as the new visitation schedule was to be signed and she tried to make it look like he was a drug addict. That wasn't the case at all and all his medical reports confirmed that. Now she is taking us back because she doesn't want to drive anymore and being a parent is too much of an inconvienece so she wants us to pay her way basically. she has an attorney only because she hasn't passed her bar exam yet to be an attorney. I don't know what else to do when she is the one always taking stupid things to court. We follow the court order to a T that she agreed with because she got a life and had to be an adult.

My husband went up against an attorney and "won" (there are no winners when dealing with family court). I guess it depends on what is being fought, in our case it was a show cause hearing. Lawyers can't change facts.
