Dear Valued Users,
It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.
This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.
We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.
We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and we wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Dawn and The StepTalk Team

Wow talk about a control
Wow talk about a control freak! So she is peeping into her neighbor's yard and is upset the neighbor kid is actually using it?
I got one of those from a neighbor wanting us to keep our drapes drawn because her 14yo was peeping into our livingroom that has several nude paintings in it. I ignored her. Did extend an invitation to join me at an art museum. Never herd back. The funny thing is the kid didn't seem straight.
Holy hell! I didn't realize
Holy hell! I didn't realize my neighbor's gave someone a letter!
When we first moved into our house (I was pregnant) the neighbors were fine. Polite, friendly. Then I had my son. They were still friendly. Then he turned 2 and we got a swingset for him to play on. They put up a fence (was just bushes, before), and every time we go outside with our kids the neighbors go back inside their house and slam the door (and the windows, if they'd had the windows open). We go back inside and the neighbors come back outside. They are no longer even remotely friendly to us. Our kids have never gone in their yard, or kicked a ball in their yard, or anything like that. They just play in our yard. It's nuts. But at least they've never actually told us not to let the kids play!
The best part? The neighbors are both teachers.
We once had a neighbor call
We once had a neighbor call the police to complain that my child, age 14, was playing catch with his friend in the backyard. She was concerned that the ball would damage her newly planted grass if it went over the fence.
When the police showed up at my door I have to say I was surprised. They said they had to come out since she called and were just making me aware that she had called. They said they were going to tell her that she could not stop ball playing in a neighbor's yard.
Some people are just nuts. I
:jawdrop: Some people are just nuts. I can't believe the police have to waste time with that nonsense...
That is some funny shit! OH
That is some funny shit!
OH NO! NOT THE GRASS!
LMAO!

I agree, what happened to the good old days when parents locked them in the basement!
