Immaturity
She always has to do something to mess things up. So everyone knows that BM was to drop SS off on her way through town today to make up for screwing BF out of his fall break with SS. Well, she did do that. And she also did something else while she was there...she keyed BF's car! All the way down the driver's side! BF called the cops and filed a police report. I just can't believe she'd be so immature!

Oh believe it....
this doesn't surprise me Nymh. This woman is a bonafide "crazy" person. She can't handle the fact that your bf "won" at something. She wants him to lose...lose....lose...lose...and lose again, and he stood up to her the other day, cornered her, and he won something.
I'm sorry that she did that. She is really a vindictive person. Maybe she took the anger out on his car instead of his kid though. The car can and I'm sure will be repainted, hopefully at her expense, but maybe..just maybe she got her anger out on the car, and maybe ss had to bear less pain b/c of it. Sorry, I try to look at the positive side of every situation, even if it's horrible. Just my way of thinking through things.
Sorry about the car, try not to let it ruin your weekend.
Hugs,
Candice
Oh I'm not
I'm laughing about it, myself. I can't believe she'd do something so stupid. BF's pretty pissed off, though, but he's still having fun and enjoying his time with SS.

That is a good thing
It's very good that you can put this past you for your time with ss. That is very challenging, especially when you have been violated so many times, and when the woman just won't learn.
Also, I read one of your other replies and in court it could go either way. Your dh is a victim, and if the da thinks there is enough evidence to prosecute, that person will, at no charge to you directly (tax payer dollars). However, it's bf's word against bm's word, and there is constant turmoil between the two which helps and hurts his case. One could argue that she has the motive to do it, but then again he could just be blaming her for pre-existing damage. There is merit to his case b/c she dropped off ss at a specific time, bf saw her try the handle of the vehicle, and he reported the incident right away..
It's not a slam dunk, but hopefully he will will what is rightfully due to him. Good luck on that..

WHAT!!!
OMG!! I hope to God someone saw her do it! I'm so sorry that happened to you and BF.

yes, Please tell me there was a witness!
BM keyed my truck before and we couldn't get her for it because she was behind DH's truck so he didn't "directly see her do it". I wish we would have known that before he called the police and we would have said it differently.
I would be so happy to hear you can stick this to BM and make her Pay!!!!

I wasn't there...
I wasn't there when it happened, but I was there when BF filed the police report. He told the police officer that he looked out the window after BM had walked out of his building and he saw her trying to open the door of his vehicle, then when she saw it was locked she ran her fingers along the side of it and walked off. Then when he went outside the vehicle had been all keyed up.

I HOPE thats good enough....
I hope thats good enough for the police.... Alot of times someone has to actually witness the keying.... I hope what your dh saw is good enough... she should have to pay for the damage she caused.

Oh Nymh...
I'm sorry to hear that. That is immature... Is the scratch really deep? I only ask because I had the same thing done to me, and after of course filing and paperwork, court, blah blah blah... I was able to just rub it out with wax? Still irked me!

RE:
We took it to a body shop after we filed the police report and let them assess the damage. It's going to cost $75-100 to fix. We do a lot of business back and forth with this shop so we know that whatever estimate they give us is a good deal. Most of the scratch is superficial but there are some places where she dug in really deep that won't come out with just waxing or buffing.
How can we put this at her expense? Will that be another court proceeding? Because we are trying to avoid court as much as possible but we think she deserves to pay for her stupid act of defiance.

Wouldn't this be Criminal Court
I think this would be criminal court. You shouldn't have to pay to go to court with this idiot. DH is a victim. I would think she would have to pay to get the car fixed. Your insurance company may go after her.
In my case...
I had it happen to me when my ex was stalking me at college. I had a security tape pulled, and the college campus police filed a report for me. I filed charges, pursued a civil case (he wasn't arrested for anything... and I'm under the assumption that criminal is due to arrests, maybe I'm wrong, but I just filed under whatever advice of the legal aid- just followed the paperwork they gave me.)
He had to pay for the damages it caused, (plus for throwing a coffee cup at my truck that caused a 6 inch dent from a previous incident that he had caused) and scratches- plus all my court fees. The scratches were easy to fix, but the coffee cup incident wasn't...
I had a brand new car, and it still irks me today...

Been There....
I have been in a similar situation, Only BM keyed "MY" car, this was many years ago, it happened in the middle of the night and my car was parked outside, in the morning I woke up and was on my way out and DH says, "what happened to your car?" and I said to him, "what are you talking about?" so I turned and look and the whole hood of the car was keyed, and it was bad it look liked there was a cat fight on my car the whole hood was keyed up and the marks were deep, we of course called the cops and BM of course denied the whole thing. The car I owned was old, and we just found a replacement hood at a junk yard.
years later, BM fessed up to the whole thing (among many other confessions) to her ex-mother in law, it was part of a AA thing I guess.
I wish I could say she has mellowed out some now, but unfortunately that is not the case.
Good luck to you, and remember if it is an old car, you may want to check a salvage yard.
I wish I could say
Mellowed Out Ex-wife
I have never ever heard of an ex that mellowed over the years. My experience has been she's getting worse all the time. I swear that women has nothing better to do but sit around and invent new ways of cruelity. For seven years she done nothing put create problems and more problems. There is absolutely no hope that these sick women will mellow. She never keyed my car but it really wouldn't surprise me if she did. She's done far sicker things to me and my own though. Feel lucky she only keyed the car this time.
