Quitty McQuitterson and the First Bank of Mofo...
Quitty (aka ss) has been signed-up for yet another sport this Spring, baseball. Quitty quits EVERY sport, with the exception of karate because of dh's insistence, that twat waffle signs him up for. Dh is ordered to pay half of all extra curriculars that he agrees to. Dh, being the spineless little infraction of a man that he is, never questions the decisions. He just pulls out the checkbook and pays.
When I was informed that Quitty would be playing baseball this Spring I asked how much it would cost? I was given the amount and told that would cover all his expenses and equipment. Check was written to twat waffle. Case closed. Or so I thought...
This morning I overhear Quitty informing dh that he would indeed need "new" baseball cleats in addition to extra uniform pants and equipment for the catchers position he is trying out for. Dh's response is "Ok, I'll take you to Dick's this weekend and get you whatever you want." :jawdrop:
I have no problem with the cleats. Twat waffle needs to pony-up half the amount for anything additional. Will dh mention it? Nope. Will he pay for everything? Yep. And when we come up short this month, I will have to pull money out of MY savings to cover the household expenses. This happens repeatedly! I have separated our finances into a household and personal accounts. But it's freaking always me getting the short stick. Dh will piss money away and then I'm left holding the bill. I have to cover the difference.
I should've known this was going to happen. Dh and I had a heated argument this weekend over the fact that my oldest bio is turning 12 next month and I asked him what he'd like to do. Dh threw in my face that "Quitty SS didn't get to have a birthday outing last year at our house because we couldn't afford it." Really, dh? SS gets two of everything ALL THE TIME!! Two Christmases, two Easters, two birthdays etc... And we did celebrate his birthday. We took him to dinner, his choice, and had small family party.
Dh proceeded to get all bent out of shape that my kid got to have a small party, with a few friends and a bounce house. I pointed out to his moronic ass, that my parents, had indeed, paid for the ENTIRE thing not us as we couldn't afford it. My parents pick up the slack for my kids all the time. They help pay for my kids extra curriculars, parties, shoes. Hell, I don't know what I would do without my folks?! Their generosity is what keeps us flush. Dh whines that they should try and do the same for Quitty ss. Uh, no f*cker. They shouldn't. They are not obligated to pay for your child's lifestyle. Your child has two parents who work. My kids have me. No child support. No bio dad in picture or bio grandparents.
I am so sick and tired of this double standard all the damn time with dh. I am tired of him resenting my family for doing things for their grandchildren! I see the sideways looks I get from him when my mom drops off new clothes or shoes for my kids. I can almost feel the envy rolling off dh. SS never goes without anything. We buy him new shoes, clothes, coats for him. I don't get it, I really don't. Rant over...

"I have to cover the
"I have to cover the difference"
No you don't. You are choosing to. I would let whatever bill is in HIS name go....let him feel the consequences of his behavior.
I would lose my ever-lovin-sh!t on SO if he even HINTED that my parents owed his kids anything.......and shame him til the ends of the earth.
Stop paying for his bad
Stop paying for his bad choices ..... the resentment will continue to build until it hits a boiling point and it won't be pretty.
Life isn't fair , your DH needs to get over it !
Mofo, take what you've said
Mofo, take what you've said here and turn this to your DH....

I would probably also add "So STFU now and forever. I don't want to hear it." Also, some additional expletives and mention something about entitlement, pushovers, and weak spineless DAAAAAAAADDDDDIES.
Here is what you need to do.
Here is what you need to do.
Ask your parents to not give you the new stuff in front of DH. Then you make it plain to DH that YOU have to cover your kids daily expenses now since he was a whiny little toddler, so you can't cover the bills when he is short. He either has to cut back on SS spending or STFU over who is helping you with your kid.
Let the phones, electric or some other necessity get shut off....or maybe those checks to BM will bounce.
Let him feel the struggle of life without your parents help, or the fact he spends all of his money on SS.
This is so freaking
This is so freaking ridiculous! That her DH is such a baby that mofo's parents need to sneak around and feel guilty about getting gifts for her kids!
My MIL is such a freaking jerk like this.... she is SOOOOO jealous of SIL2's MIL! At one of my nieces b-day parties we did the whole cake, open gifts, thing and then MIL and FIL had to leave and the rest of us were sitting around chatting and SIL's MIL comes out with another gift for my niece. I said "Oh you forgot one?" She said "No, I didn't want to give it to her with MIL here because she gets jealous and mad" How fucking stupid is this???? Who cares if SIL's MIL wants to buy the girl an IPod? It's not a freaking competition!
Well so is paying his share
Well so is paying his share of the bills. Guarantee he is doing it bc if the grandparents are making sure the kid doesn't go without, he knows he can give BM the money and the OP will cover his ass.
You said it, he is a freaking baby and he needs to learn a lesson. Only way to make a man learn is for them to experience a hardship.
This was my stepkids. They
This was my stepkids. They both wanted to join the ukulele club at school so he bought them both the instrument and they both quit. She wanted to do dance. So off he went to the expensive dance store and both the leotards and the shoes and the tights and its always the special dance bag with her name engraved and she quit literally one week later. Then it was softball. He bought the bat and the gloves and the uniform and of course ordered the special bag with her name engraved and she lasted two weeks. THen it was cheer. Endless money on a sport that she has interest in for just a few weeks. Now she's been diagnosed with ADHD and he said that's the reason for her lack of concentration on sports.
I just watched though. It didn't affect me financially.
How old is Quitty?? Why is
How old is Quitty?? Why is he allowed to keep signing up for sports, buying all this shit and then quitting? When SD was about 10 or so she would do this shit. I can't even begin to tell you how many calls we got from GBM asking for money so SD could do gymnastics... that lasted about 1 month. DH bought SD all kinds of Lacrosse gear (aint cheap!!) SD played maybe a month and quit and never played again. SD insisted she wanted to ski. DH bought her ALL the equipment, AND a season pass to ski resort and she went ONCE!!!!!! By the time she was a teenager, every sport she DID manage to play and play the whole season needed new sneakers, clothes, uniforms. It was ridiculous.
Last year was BS6 first year of t-ball. I purposely got his cleats a 1/2 size too big so he could wear them again this year. HE should be able to wear his baseball pants again as they were black and didn't get stained. Same went for his soccer cleats, shin guards etc. Oh but Gawd forbid... if that was SD she'd HAVE to have new things every year.. the excuse would always be that nothing fit anymore and then when she got too old to use that excuse it was because she lost everything because she was such a freaking slob.
... and I HATE quitters!!! BS6 had 3 kids on his soccer team that would show up randomly for practices and then just quit showing up all together. By the end of the season, they only had 5 players left so the kids had to play the whole game (no subs) and if one of the 5 was sick then they had to forfeit. It just pissed me off! I can see if your kid gets injured or sick or something but I know all 3 of those parents/kids and they just let the kids quit because they were being whiny McWhinersons.
He's 9, Daizy.
He's 9, Daizy.
That's ridic then. If he
That's ridic then. If he tried baseball and quit 3 times already, then he shouldn't be allowed to sign up for baseball again. What a bunch of morons.
I hear ya... And the kicker
I hear ya... And the kicker last night was dh informs me that he hasn't "mentioned" any of this to twat waffle yet. Really? Color me so surprised, dh. *insert eye roll here* He claims that he isn't buying any equipment until he "knows for sure" if ss is catching. I told him I fully expect him to inform Satan's Mistress of the additional expenses and that she will split them with him or else I will split. }:)
