You might be a red neck IF.....

You might be a red neck if you use zip strips to hang your ornaments on your tree. Yep my bro did this!! I blogged that his wife left and left the kids too but she took the tree and most of the ornaments and all the lights. She didn't put it up or anything. She lives a few houses from my parents and the kids told me that she won't get them a present.

Waitaminute!
Okay, no space for a tree at j-dog's house. Really. None. Except maybe in the dog room and wouldn't THAT be a disaster!
So, instead, I opted to wrap the banister of the staircase (the lower half, which is RIGHT THERE as you come in the front door. Did it in some silk foliage garland with berries. And added some LED frosted bulbs. It looks terrific.
But.
It's being held in place with zip strips. I mean, how else would I have been able to do this?
I'm a redneck now?
Really?

I was kidding around. Black zip-ties actually worked REALLY nicely for this--virtually invisible, hold the garland and lights in place nicely.
On a TREE, they'd SHOW. I agree--not a good look.

Duct tape works best with sparkly silver garland, this is green silk foliage with red berries. Nothing silvery about it!

They were black ones. And don;t get me started on his tree. He cut one down and it really looked like a charlie brown tree. Poor thing hardly had any green. Sad
