BM lives an hour away. Pick up point when school is not in session is at 7 pm at a spot between our two homes. WE live in a heavy traffic metropolitan area. So on a Friday night of a holiday, the 3o mile drive could easily take an hour.

Anyway, DH and I will be out in the area tomorrow attending to other business. Dh suggested that we could drop SS off directly at BM's house in the early afternoon. I said, "good luck working that out".

He asked SS to call his mom to see if she would agree. SS asked if he could call later (because he knows it is always the BIGGEST hassle to try and get her to commit to doing anything extra - even though we would be delivering him to her door, she would still have him for 4-5 extra hours.

SS calls, then comes downstairs asking what time, "because BM has to work". (Remember, BM states she only works 5 hours a week and begins at 5 am... funny how work is always her first excuse". We say, "early afternoon, but ask her what time will work for her"

SS comes down a few minutes later stating that he doesn't know. She's going to have to get back to us. She has work.

DH says, "fine, no prob. we'll just keep to the standard 7 pm."

SS says, "no, she said Yes"

Ok, whatever....SS is about as bright as BM so who knows.

DH asks me to send a text to BM: I'll be in the area tomorrow in the early afternoon. If you like I can drop him at your house. Please let me know if this works and what time. Otherwise I'll just see you tomorrow night at 7

And holey shit!!! BM responds (in her ghetto speak, as usual): yeah, u can drop him off around 2 if thas ok w u

DH responds: OK

Wow. I'm impressed, but not really. DH is saving her gas money - that's like $10 in her pocket.

But still happy to get rid of the SS for a few hours early, especially since we need to pick him back up Saturday at 5 since its our "turn" for EAster... even though I'd be happy to let him stay for some extra time with his mommy.
