This is totally random and unrelated to the usual, but just got the results of nephews school evaluation and I'm so proud of him! For mechanical dexterity he scored at the level of a second grader! He's in pre-school! They also said he's a total sweetheart and very popular and well liked by everyone. He scored off the charts in all categories and they think he's going to be really good at math because his grasp of numbers is so good. He's already reading (SS5 is two years older and can only read two words, his name and "red.") and draws extremely creative and complex drawings. His teacher suggested that my sis put him in an art class. He's already taking gymnastics so the art stuff will have to wait, but I know what i'm getting him for Christmas! Lots of art supplies like my aunt got me when I was into drawing as a kid. He loves gymnastics and it's the most adorable thing in the world to watch his class of itty bitty little people learning to walk on the balance beam, do somersaults, etc...He's also a little ham and apparently during the class picture, instead of standing still like his little classmates, he struck a pose just as the flash went off and the photographer got a huge kick out of him. He looks like a little broadway star in the picture, it's hilarious. I'm watching him right now and I can't get over how freaking cute he is!

I get lots of nephew time today which is wonderful because we had a lot of trouble with the skids this week and I needed to have a positive kid experience! They spent an unusual amount of time with BM because of a personal situation of hers, and after a week with her they were just awful for two days straight! They were fighting non-stop, whining, begging for fast food and candy, breaking all the basic rules and generally being little bastards. It's amazing how missing a few days with us has such a huge effect on them! We realize that it's really not their fault and that kids without rules or structure will keep pushing the limits so they can find out what the boundaries are. That doesn't make it any less frustrating though and we had to put them in time out about ten times each over a two day period. Grrrr! Thank God for my nephew! He puts everything in perspective and restores my faith in children...
