OK, I am going to tell you, I
OK, I am going to tell you, I was sick for 9 months with my BD. Yes, 9 months could not stand the smell of food.
I only gained 9lbs and all I heard was you need to eat, you need to eat. It's a little hard to eat when your throwing up.
Now for the good news. I a have an amazing healthy, beautiful daughter. It was worth every moment of sickness. And she was the easiest baby.
I wish I could tell you it will pass but it may not. I am sending you a hug and support.
I never had a second of
I never had a second of morning sickness (or any other sickness) during my pregnancy thank God. But my SIL had it terrible with both of her girls. She was sick the whole pregnancy and they actually had to give her a prescription for some type of medicine that cancer patients actually take to relieve the nausea. We called them her "anti-puke pills"
I've heard alot of people say that usually means your having a girl, something about too many female hormones or something... maybe that's why I was spared because I had a boy? Probably just an old wives tale, but at any rate, hope you feel better soon!
I had a boy and I spent the
I had a boy and I spent the entire 9 months of pregnancy vomitting and a month after until the hormones had left the building. It was horrific but like Dragonfly said, it was well worth it and honestly whenever I see a pregnant woman now I miss the entire pregnancy experience so I know it's hard to do now but for all it's worth try to enjoy the rare moments that your not incredibly ill. Good luck. Hang in there.
Are you taking prenatal
Are you taking prenatal vitamins? I had to stop taking them and just take regular vitamins instead because I couldn't stand the iron. It gave me acid reflux and I had a constant metallic taste in my mouth that made me sick to my stomach. My morning sickness slowed down at month 4 and was gone by month 5. Just make sure everything you take in has the highest nutritional value possible. I only gained 14 pounds with baby 1 and 16 pounds with baby 2, and doctor said they would take what they needed from me, which was true, as I weighed LESS after each baby was born.
These are the things that
These are the things that helped me: lay in bed w/ your head just slightly elevated. Slowly(about one sip a minute) sip cold but not freezing water. Slowly, slowly, munch on saltines with unslated tops. One banana a day, slowly nibbled. Fill a glass w/ vanilla ice cream, fill to the top w/ milk or soymilk, put in freezer. Take out 20 minutes later and eat slowly with a spoon with your feet up.(the milkshake only if you're not lactose intolerant)When I would wake up in the morning feeling sick I would let a few of the unsalted saltines "melt in my mouth" before I even got out of bed. Hope this helps. Good luck and God bless.
I was sick all 9 months. I
I was sick all 9 months. I only gained 12 pounds. I spent the majority of it on bed rest the last four months. I did have toxemia when they finally took him. He was born fine, just very small. All that worked for me and I can no longer eat were poptarts, dry toast and cup a soups...
Just take it easy. Not moving around made it better for me.
I was sick the whole 9 months
I was sick the whole 9 months both times (a boy and a girl, by the way, so morning sickness must not indicate gender). My doctor did finally prescribe an anti-emetic and both babies were healthy. I also rarely could keep the prenatal vitamins down but took a regular multi-vitamin most days. After the first trimester I did find some things I could eat...and they were often kind of odd things. I did read somewhere, and it helped, you should make sure to eat before you feel nauseous- even if it's just a couple crackers. This even meant setting my alarm clock early to eat a little (kept stuff in my nightstand) and go back to sleep. It kept the morning nausea down to a roar instead of a raging inferno. Ginger ale and sprite were my best friends.
And I know this sounds weird, but I eventually was relieved when I actually vomited because it was relief from that nauseated feeling. I'm sure you've already noticed that smells are bad triggers, so avoiding strong smells helps if possible. My kids are 9 & 15 and there are still things I can't eat to this day because of the smell when I was pregnant. I LOVE to eat and am overweight, so clearly I'm not being dramatic and senstive about this...they literally still make me sick.
Best wishes!
I was sick with #2 but not #1
I was sick with #2 but not #1 (other than some cursory and fleeting nausea).
My doctor tried everything. I eventually had to go off the prenatals, turns out I had allergies to many of the ingredients.
One doc told me to take benadryl - that it would help with teh nausea AND help me sleep! lol.
I did, and it worked. Both my kids were born healthy. Ask your OBGYN.
