This weekend DH told his own mother that "The only arguments Stepmom31 and I have are regarding BM, who likes to push her boundaries and thinks she still has control over me." We had a skid free Sunday and invited MIL over. DH said this in front of me. MIL said she was elated to hear it coming from him.

Is DH finally seeing the light??!!

I think it finally sank in for him when, after all the latest drama, we found out that BM's bf hasn't been at her house for the last 2 months. And when she's having her stress, she either tries to be great friends with DH or is nasty to him.

I certainly feel empowered after the last drama, now that I know that I can piss her off just as much as she does me (or even MORE, because I have never lost my cool in front of her like she did with me!). Just knowing that is SOOO satisfying that it has helped me maintain my calm in situations that used to piss me off and to laugh more at her idiocy.

DH is certainly enjoying my calm state, and I made sure that he knows that it's because he stood up for me and I finally felt as is we are a team.

Still monitoring how it goes, but so far, so good.
