So, I signed into Facebook this morning & went to check out the Status Shuffle on Facebook. You can click on different topics & it scrolls through a bunch of different status update statments you can post on your page. My neice is struggling with some issues right now & I'm really missing my family, so I clicked on "Family" to see what they had. The first one to come up said, "Your children need your presence more than they need your presents". It has nothing to do with the situations in my family, but man...how hard it hits home for so many parents & skids we read about on this site.

I wonder how many of us would still be dealing with all of the stresses of being stepparents if a child's mother & father could both understand the importance of BOTH parents being present in their children's lives, & if they could both understand the harm it does a child to try to substitute presents in the place of the other parent...
