Potty training

When does potty traing end? I'm going crazy, I don't have a problem with the pee, but she never can poop in the toilet. She has pooped in the toilet once and she in almost three. What's going on?!

SD3 1/2 is still in pull ups. NO pee or poo in the toilet. I've refused to do anything but I might crack.

i just recently overcame this problem with my 4 year old son. yes, 4! my daughter was out of pull ups, even at bedtime, by 2 1/2, so this was very puzzling to me. he didn't start peeing on the potty until he was 3, and he just started pooping on it 2 days ago. very frustrating. he knew what was up, he just refused. i had talked to his dr and he wasn't concerned because he's not 5 yet. :? bs is developmentally behind, so i don't doubt that is part of it.

what finally fixed the problem is that his bag of pull ups just disappeared. i have no idea where they are. he would always ask for a pull up if he had to poop, threw a fit if i mentioned the potty. i told him they are gone, i don't know where they are. he didn't poop for 3 days, i'm not even joking. all because he couldn't do it in a pull up! 2 days ago, he asked for one again. i lost it. i yelled at him that the pull ups are GONE and if he has to go, get on the toilet. he did. for the first time ever. and was very proud of himself. he asked for one again today, and i told him no, we don't have any, get on the potty. day 2 of using the toilet. if i had known that was all it would take, i would have stopped buying them a long time ago! i'm just happy he's finally doing it. i was worried about him not pooping, but i knew he couldn't hold it forever.

i will never buy pull ups again. fdh said i need to get some for "back up". i asked him back up for what? he had no answer. no effing way am i buying them again for him to backtrack and refuse to use the toilet again after he's been doing it for 2 days. no way. he will never wear one again.

This reminds me of when we were potty training my niece. She was the normal potty training age but good lord, when they can bring you the diaper and practically change themselves, it is time!

Anyway, my husband was changing her and said to her, "You really need to poop on the pot, I'm tired of changing your poopy butt." She just looked at him as if to say, "That is not my problem."

My sister got one of those potty training sticker books and it worked pretty well. They get stickers for peeing, pooping, and washing their hands.

I feel like I'm going to scream at her every single time I'm so annoyed that she won't poop or even tell me she has to poop. My niece tells me she says to poop and she's 2 and a half. My step daughter is 3 and I'm sick of buying pull ups. I can't even train her in panties because she pees in then and shits in them. I want to scream. Everyday this happens what the hell!Does it ever end

We've tried the everytime you poop or pee on the toilet you get two m&ms it's just not works with the poop thing. I'm going crazy. Clearly she knows she has to poop when it's sitting in your pants!

Today I about HAD IT. I had her smdad slap her ass. She poop twice in her pants and pooped on the kitchen floor.

I had a friend whose kid did that several times. She was absolutely at her wit's end with him. He was 4 before he got the whole potty training thing figured out, but she was considering a litter-box or those puppy training pads. Biggrin

i know exactly how she was feeling! it's not always a matter of lazy parenting, sometimes it's a kid who just refuses to do it!

Bi! You changed your profile pic! I didn't recognize you! Biggrin

Must be the ST equivalent of getting a new hair do?

I'm thinkin' pull ups is not the way to go. Just from everything I've read so far, they seem to make it worse for some reason. We never used them for my niece so I don't know.

I think DD5 was around 3 when she gave up the pullups. We were wrapped up in DH's medical issues (having mini strokes at age 42) so I had stopped nagging her and pushing her and she regressed from being almost totally potty trained. I bribed her with big-girl panties and all kinds of promises, and she could poop in the potty, but always peed in the pullups. Finally we had a talk with her dr, who looked her in the eyes and said "Wow, you are much too big of a girl to be using diapers. You should wear panties like a big girl." Potty trained instantly, with only 2 accidents afterwards. A little shame can be a great motivator.

She gets spanked when she does but will still do it. What is the deal! I take her every 20 mins, in sick of wiping her ass. Buying pull ups. I try the panties thing and if just seems like she pees more In them then she does her pull ups. Sometimes I tell her to go pee and she doesn't tell me she has poop, and there is shit all over the walls and toilet seat, and herself! I've just had it.

No!!!! I haven't tried those:!!!! But I must! Where do you get those? Not only that I wish it were easier, if BM weren't such an idiot I'm sure she'd be potty trained by now
