Splitting spring break
Skids' spring break was originally after school Friday April 11, returning to school morning of Tuesday April 22.
BM has insisted on switching skids on April 17 at 9am. Not unreasonable; represents and even split of days (5/5).
DH has surgery scheduled for April 16; outpatient so he'll be home the same day, but groggy. The surgery has been rescheduled several times and is not critical, but it's also difficult to get time with this surgeon within 6 weeks or so.
DH emailed BM asking if they could the switch on the 15th instead, and if he could make up those two overnights on the back end of spring break (8pm pick up on evening of April 20 - which would actually give her more time, but he was asking a favor so he wasn't going to push it).
Followed by a long ranting email about how she already has plans, she said no.
DH rescheduled the surgery and made plans to be home with the skids on the 16th.
The school district sent an email this morning notifying parents that the kids are required to make up 2 snow days .. one make up day will be Monday April 21.
Now BM is saying that she will be picking skids up a day earlier to make up for her lost day. The reality is the days off are no longer even. There are 9 days off (including weekends) instead of 10. So BM is fighting the fact that DH will now have 5 days, and she'll have 4.
What a headache .. he's already rescheduled the surgery because she couldn't be flexible, so I think he's sticking to his guns on this one. If she had agreed to work with him (which he has done for her plenty of times), the lost time would have been all HIS.
Yep .. this is probably
Yep .. this is probably similar to what he'll write.
Possibly add the fact that his sister will be in town visiting through the 16th from the west coast and skids haven't seen her in 2 years. BM has made the argument several times that she should get extra time with the skids when her out of state family visits.
