Does anyone have any experience with this? Has one been carried out in your custody case?

This is being advised by our lawyer to prove that BM is a narcissist psychopath but I'm not sure its the best choice as I have heard it can result in favoring the other way...??

I think what your referring to is called a home study in my state. I'm not experienced in that, but I do know about court ordered psych evals. BM ordered one on DH declaring he was crazy and angry. So we requested the same of her and she couldn't go back on it. He came through with flying colors as a devoted stable father. Her's came back as a manipulative narcissist out of touch with reality whom would likely never coparent.
I don't see how a home study could prove she's a narcissist psychopath. That's seems to be a statement that could only come from a dr. Home study evaluates the stability of the home environment and family atmosphere. Don't take what your lawyer says with total faith. At the end of the day he cares about his wallet.

Yes our attorney thinks it would be beneficial and would bring to light her narcissistic tendencies otherwise there really is no way to prove it. Yes we have text messages but the more evidence the better. We are going to trial at the end of August, I'm not sure we will even attempt a mediation as that has been tried in the past with no luck. She wants EVERYTHING, not willing to budge on a single matter.

We were advised the cost on an eval is 10k +.

Can a judge order an evaluation to happen?

It was talked about on Friday of last week. I think if this is the route we are going BM would voluntarily do it because in her eyes she is completely 100% normal and we are the crazy people. That wouldn't be the issue.

The court date came around REAL quick because BM has denied parenting time therefore our atty put in a order to push it through quicker in the courts. This is basically just to hash out the custody and nothing more. If we choose to go through with the eval that would all take place after anyways... at least that's was i think....
