Another Day in the Life.....
:O
Its been one of those days, I should have pulled the covers back over my head and rolled over. We woke to a snowy morning and cancelled schools...you wouldn't think that would be a bad start to the morning. Hubbie worked from home, was super stressed. BD wandered down the stairs a bit bleery-eyed and went straight to the computer to talk to her friends on Facebook and listen to music on You Tube. I also worked from home, had a somewhat easy morning and planned to spend my afternoon finally putting the Christmas decorations away. But as they say, the best laid plans....
Today is SD 12th Birthday...Yay...she's 12...so before I start working, I jumped on Facebook and posted a note on her profile "Happy Birthday to an awesome 12 yo!" Her reply, "thx, next time leave off the yo" my reply "yo=year old, it wouldn't make sense with out it", her reply, "just say 12 like everyone else", my reply, "A simple thank you would have been enough", her reply, "I did say thx." My reply, "Yes you did, and your statement should have ended there. Your welcome and have a great day". Her reply, "See you later." I just deleted the entire string. Maybe I should get so aggravated about something so simple, but I'm tired of her having no manners. So my day goes on, BD wants bagels, I wouldn't take her, a moment of whining until I reminded her we have bagel. Problem resolved. I finished working at 12:00 yay! Hubbie asks me if I know when we are getting the kids. No, I don't. He calls their house..and doesn't get an answer.
SS is on FB, I message him. I tell him to find his sister, shovel their mother's driveway and be ready to be picked up at 2:15. A battle of wills...I win. BD and I go to Walmart to pick up fixin's for lasagna...then off to pick up SS and SD. I only wait a few minutes and they come out...so far so good! We get home the kids put the groceries away...leave all the bags all over the kitchen...whatever...I pick up the bags and put them away. BD and SD go outside to sled with friends. SS, hangs on his computer talking to friends, Hubbie goes upstairs and takes a nap!! A nap, now?!! Really?? Your kids, that I picked up on this icy day..and you're going to sleep?!?! I make homemade meat sauce -- slipping in finely chopped carrots, zucchini, squash, onion and portobello mushrooms...oh and a touch of wheat germ to make it healthly. I put together the lasagna in the oven.
Send SD to wake up her father...he finally comes downstairs 15 minutes later..wants to know how he can help...no this isn't a heartfelt how can I help, its more of I know your pissed so I better help. He took last night's dinner off the table (that he was going to do for me last night...more food in the garbage)...and put the dish in the sink to soak. THat's it...he back in the LR, on the couch. BD left with her dad. Lasagna will be done in 5 minutes. Hubbie tells me he's not hungry and he's not eating. SD, who asked for the lasagna, will probably go in freak out mode, as usual, because she's going to notice the noodles are whole wheat, or I didn't chop the onion fine enough and she's going to find a piece of that...I'm tired and my back hurts...and its time for a glass of wine!
