SD turned 12, and now I have to throw the party??
My SD is 12, yay for her. We took the family out to dinner (Total of 8 people at Outback)and I'm taking her shopping once she knows what she needs. She wants a small get together with her friends now...ok, I agree pizza and a movie...hubby and I discussed this. Didn't want the party here. We talked, it was agreed on. Tonight I find out that she is have 8 girls HERE! Including two girls I can't stand. (SD has a SS on BM's side -- she's coming and another girl who has been here before and is just plain rude!) So now, I have to have the house party ready, instead of family hang out ready, I will have to clean SD's room cause its a pigsty, I will have to prepare the food...ok, order the pizza...I'll have to make the cake. When I asked hubby how this happened, he said he changed his mind when she asked him about it again. I'm pissed! He says I can go out, got to a movie or something. I'm just pissed, because we all know that is not going to happen. I'm not REALLY going to be able to go anywhere...maybe I should, maybe I won't worry about the house, or her room, or bake the cake...MAYBE, I'll let him figure it out. Oh, I forgot, his brother is coming up and I have to make dinner too....

Well leave him to it. Let him
Well leave him to it. Let him see what he is allowing. And remind him how wonderful he is to make sure all the mess is cleaned up.
If his brother is coming the 2 of them can run the party. Why be a martyr? He can organise the cake and deal with obnoxious kids. And when you come home after a movie and a mani/pedi and a massage, smile at him all frazzled and head off to bed.
Don't be guilted into ANYTHING.
agreed, why are you making
agreed, why are you making this issue? Make you own plans, maybe it will teach him a lesson?
I agree why oh why is this
I agree why oh why is this your problem? DH said okay. DH handles it, you go get a facial... see how easy that is
Thank you! Girls

Instead of brewing over this.......do what he said!!!! Don't clean the brats room!!! Don't do any of the work!!! Leave, have girl night...and let DH take care of the mess he made!!!!!!!!!
Don't do the martyr step mom thing. It will only make you resent her more and build up anger. Take it from a seasoned professional: disengage!!!
