Between a Rock and Crazy Lady
So my SS confessed to me last night that he has been emailing his BM at school in the counselor’s office, and begged me not to tell his Dad. Of course I told his father but wow what a place he put me in by telling me these things. The relationship with BM is considerably strained due to her past behavior with the kids and my husband. Their custody actual went infront of a jury trial it was messy. My husband had a protective order on her for a year. She’s certifiable that’s for sure. She just likes to cause problems. We always allow communication between the BM and the kids so I feel this is just another way for this woman to try to squeeze information out of the boy, and stir up problems. I feel like the school still should have notified us as custodial parents that she had approached the school and requested this to be done. My SS told me that Mrs X the counselor said, “she was his Mommy’s special friend, that he could tell anything to and trust.” Granted this BM has filed 14 CPS cases on our family in the last year and a half. All of course come back unfounded and dismissed, but I can't explain to you what that stress does to a family to go through those investigations. I feel she’s just once again trying to stir up trouble! It’s frustrating the lack of maturity some people display, and even sadder for those innocent children hurt by those selfish "grownups". It’s not about emails, it’s about being a thorn in our sides.

I can't believe a counselor
I can't believe a counselor would do this without telling you. I would be going to the principal or the school board. That is so wrong....
Does BM have parental rights
Does BM have parental rights or a restraining order at this time?
If yes, and no, then there's nothing wrong with this. Sure, I'd be pissed, too, but she (unfortunately) is the kid's mother. If she can talk to the kid whenever, why do you think she's doing it through the school?
Schools have a lot of leeway. I was pissed when my kids got pulled into the counselor's office to "talk." They even had regular appointments and NO ONE at the school told me. Thankfully, my kids let me know what was going on, and first thing I did was go meet with the counselor myself.

I have to say I LOVE YOUR TITLE! This might be my new saying! Ha!
I don't know anything about what you can do however. I agree with 3littlemonkeys tho about meeting with the counselor. It's easy to fall for manipulation if you only know one side of the story. This counselor may only be hearing BMs side.
Bahamas use away glad you
Bahamas use away glad you liked the title
How is this counsellor
How is this counsellor "Mommys special friend..."? Is this friend using her position in the school to over-ride a court ordr? I would want clarification on her status NOW!
In our state, the school
In our state, the school counselors are protected and can do pretty much anything they want in discussing stuff with students. I would have liked to have gotten him fired, though. Just not possible.

Thanks everyone we have an appointment Tuesday with the counselor and principal. So hopefully we can find a good solution.
