All I can do is Laugh
I am finally at the point that SS17 immature actions just make me laugh (and give me some funny stories to share with my co-workers). There is nothing I can do but ignore it and move on, because I learned over the years nothing I say gets through to DH and besides SS17 will just go back to in-laws and flip the whole story around making me like a witch (and they believe it). ANYWAY….here is my latest humorous story.
FIL has a boat and took DH, SS17, and my DS12 out on it fishing yesterday. DH and DS12 returned late last night after fishing while SS17 stayed at in-laws. I asked them how it went and it sounds like they had a good time. But DS12 told me the silly immature things SS17 was doing and I just had to laugh and share:
SS17 was getting jealous that my son catching more fish than him, so DS12 told me that SS17 would come over to his spot after he caught a fish and cast his line directly over my son’s. DS12 said one time he was reeling in a fish and SS17 saw this and moved his line over DS12 so it would get tangled and he would lose his fish. Then DS12 told me SS17 was purposely ignoring him when he asked questions for no reason. And to top is off before they left MIL gave them some food to SHARE on boat and SS17 would only give DS12 very small portions. These behaviors sound more like a 7-year-old (or even younger) not the behavior of a 17-year-old that is going to be a senior in high school! I just have to laugh, what else can you do? LOL. The funny thing is in-laws think he is perfect and continue to spoil him, but even DH admitted to me last night that his own son “is a little weird.”
