Caught SS in a lie

BettyRay's picture

The boys were with us last night. DH and I were questioning SS14 as to the status of his missing math assignments. I caught him in a lie.

He had told DH and BM that he turned in all his missing assignments from when he went on a school field trip with his spanish class. DH had looked at SS14's grades online and SS14 is missing math assignments from the dates he was in the field trip.

So last night when DH and I asked SS14 about the missing assignments SS14 tells DH and I that his math teacher never gave him the assignments he missed when he was on the spanish trip. DH was not happy. So I asked SS14 if he had asked his math teacher what assignments he missed after the field trip.

SS14's answer, "No. I asked her before the trip and she didn't give the assignments to me so why would I ask her after the trip? Shouldn't my math teacher have known to give them to me?"

UGH-This is what's wrong with this kid(and a lot of other kids his age). No initiative at all. He think's everyone around him should do everything for him.

So DH tells SS14 that he needs to go to his math teacher tomorrow and ask for the assignments he missed. The boys are with us this weekend so if SS14 doesn't follow up with his math teacher DH will be able to discipline SS14.

My biff, thinking that a 14 y.o. would actually ask for homework. Wink

(all the while knowing his parents can see his performance - assignments, quizzes & test scores - for each class on the internet)
