Constant Change

BettyRay's picture

BM informed DH she’s changing jobs yet again (the third time in six years).

The boys and DH (and I) have just gotten settled into this schedule. Last time she switched jobs the boys were out of control, stressed, for months. DH told BM she’s not to change the custody schedule with this job change. Yeah for DH! In the past we’ve switched EOW visitation I.E. flipped our weekends and added nights to accommodate her work schedule. DH also told BM he's keeping the boys the same number of overnights per month that we have now.

DH told BM that he doesn’t want to put the boys through the stress of a custody schedule change. He said BM was taken aback but she agreed with DH’s reasoning.

BM also told DH she was looking for another place to live as she doesn’t like her current landlord. BM moved into this place in October. When she moved in there the boys had nightmares for a month after. DH and I attributed it to moving stress.

I’m so happy the boys are still in counseling as it will be a benefit to them in helping them deal with the stress of these changes.

I know exactly what you mean about the stress. our BM has moved 5 times in the last year, changed jobs 4 times in the last six months and exposed ss5 to 2 live-in boyfriends and 2 roommates(all at different apartments) in the last year. I am not exagerating; we have records of it all. we have sole physical and are about to get sole legal custody. even so, its exhausting. one day she wants to go to mediation to get ss every weekend, and the next week she cant see him on weekends at all b/c of her new job. its constant wondering about what is that crazy chick going to do next? she keeps taking us to court and then doesnt show up b/c her circumstances change between the time she got the court date and the court date itself. we want supervised visit. or denial of visit. (for other reasons) and i have my fingers crossed cause i am losing my mind.

The thing that gets me is with BM all the schedules are for “the good of the boys.”

BM 4-years ago: If I change jobs from Company A to Company B the location of Company B is closer so I’ll be able to get to the boys faster in an emergency.

BM 2-years ago: If I work nights I can be home during the day for the boys; in case the boys get sick; I can go in field trips; save money by not having to put them in day care etc.

BM today: If I work days I can be home at night with the boys to help them with homework. I won’t have to sleep during the day when they’re off school. If I’m rested I’ll be a better parent.

The list is endless…What about “the good of the boys”? Wouldn’t it be better for them to have stability in both houses? But then what do I know, I’m just SM.

lol yep - far be it from me to assume that i know what might be in the best interest of the child that i spend every moment of life with. bm has seen ss5 about 5 times now in the last year - twice for about thirty minutes while being supervised by family members and the other three times were each at different apartments with a different boyfriend. a rough grand total of the time she has spent with him since birth is somewhere around four days a year and then the five months when she abducted him.. so.. in five years thats about six months, five of them being illegal and highly traumatizing for ss. but aparently i "wouldnt understand because i dont have kids" LMAO OMG i was literally rolling on the floor laughing over that one! the most time bm has consecutively (or in total for that matter) spent with ss was when he was in utero. i joke with dh that it was really nice of her to loan me her uterous for nine months - my son is so wonderful! LOL

Yes, every time she moves or changes jobs it's "for the good of the boys"

I wish she would be honest and actually say for once "I want a new job or new apartment because I'm unhappy. And we all know the world revolves around me, my wants and needs."

I guess a girl has to have her dreams - but I know this one won't come true any time soon.

Kinda reminds me of SS11 BM. She can't hold a job to save her life....nor does she care too. Heck she gets plenty of CS from my DH and the other poor soul she had a child with! AND her new DH is a total sucker and busts his butt while she sits at home on hers! It makes me sick.....I am surprised she's not living off the gov't....but then again she may be! She a VERY sorry excuse for a human being!!!
