My Christmas, God loves me the most!!!
On Dec. 22 it was raining. Day never really came. The clouds blocked out the light all day. Huge rain drops blurred our vision and the street was black.
My DD 22 was coming home from work. She was driving on the highway going the speed limit, 70 miles an hour. She was driving a king cab pickup truck and all of the weight was in the front. When she went to merge lanes, the tail end of the truck hydroplaned. She started to spin. She followed the rules, she turned into the spin, she decelerated, but she lost control anyway.
When she realized she was headed for the guardrail she covered her face. When she hit the guardrail the truck went airborn. She flipped in midair, when the truck hit the pavement she flipped three times. The truck landed upside down.
My daughter had the most beautiful hair. It was waist length, thick and a shiny blackish brown. Her hair was chopped out of her head when the top of the truck came off. Her scalp was ground against the asphalt. I really believe that had she not had so much hair she would have lost her scalp completely.
She did have her seat belt on, the airbags did deploy. She never lost consciousness.
When she landed she had about 6 inches of space to get out. She could see the pavement. She knew she was upside down. She said the first thought in her head was "I've played enough grand theft auto to know I have 30 seconds to get out before the truck blows up." But she was trapped.
This gentleman ran up to the car, just then. My daughter was so happy. She was held by the seatbelt and pinned by the airbag. The man popped the airbag, helped with the seatbelt, and pulled her out of the cab.
She said he started checking her for wounds. He found her umbrella and held it over her.
The next person that arrived was a nurse. She called us after checking my daughter over. We were informed my daughter was going to a hospital 45 minutes away from our house. An eternity.
My daughter walked away from that accident. Probably due to Adrenalin. She broke her C6, C7, her T1,T2,T3, and T4. She tore the ligaments in her neck. She was stabbed through the knee with the dashboard, her ankle was scrapped, she has a very small cut on her nose. She has severe road rash on the entire left side of her head. And her hair, well it's jacked.
BUT....she is not paralyzed. She has no numbness. She did not go into a coma, ( we were advised she might) she did not stop breathing (again we were advised she might). She is still perfect, she is still beautiful
My DH still left and went away for Christmas, so he is a dick.
But I still have my beautiful first born.
My daughters accident was caught on a police dashcam. So we had about 6 doctors, the EMT's and police officers coming in to her room to see the miracle. They had never seen an accident like my daughters with such a perfect outcome.
So even though it doesn't feel like Christmas, I know that this week God loved me best. He protected my baby. In a few months she will be good as new.
Merry Christmas!!!
