Silent night. How would it be? Haha

My skids talk non-f'n-stop!!! We give them a lot of attention. Our house is kid central. No cable tv. Limited video games. We do a lot outside. In the winter- games at the table. Puzzles. Family video game tournaments. Baking. At bio moms it's the total opposite. They have video games, iPads, cell phone, tv, computers all the time. Bedtime is at 730 there. Weekends too. In bed with iPad. Even the 13 year old! I know when we get them they are starved for attention, my DH is great to talk and talk and talk with them. Lots of listening. But holy crap. It never ends. No quiet time. DH makes comments like "my kids just can't shut up. it's like they love to hear their own voice." Car rides are the worse! Eh. One if the step kids pushes me over the edge. Loud annoying voice. Fake laugh. I try to be sweet, understanding & giving of time & attention but crap he's so annoying. Y'all have attention starved step kids???

I agree completely. And I have taught my kids this. But DH doesn't do it. At. All. :/ My kids comment "can't they stop" I have asked them to be quiet in the car, they act like they've been beat. And later my DH says "well you told them to shut up" I explained there's a HUGE difference between "please stop talking. we are going to have some quiet time." vs "shut up!"

Well, leave it up to Dear Daddy. When he acts up, say "Jimmy needs Daddy time", smile and go get your nails done, let them hang out Smile

Wear an iPod. All my kids do this, even the bios. If you figure out how to shut yours up, I'd pay you money to know it! I think what it is, is that they are not heard at the other house. Lucky you. Wink
