Dear Valued Users,
It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.
This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.
We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.
We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and we wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Dawn and The StepTalk Team

I do cherish these times with him. Very much. On the other hand, all of BM's memories of this child are of him crying and screaming OR zoned out on a video game. Her. Great. Loss.

We just had the 'SD6 is signed up for summer school' convo. I have a letter from the school dated today that says she's not. BM'S lie and lie.

Oh, true that. Yup. BM told dh sd's summer school registration was "just now opening" she was on it "the first possible moment." I looked up the summer school stuff for some other reason and told DH the registration period was half over already. I'm sure her plan was to dither then blame DH when the registration "suddenly" closed.

In this case, it's very easy because BM will cave at the first sign of saltwater or whine.
Here I was thinking, Oh, the boy misses his mama, I spend too much time with him! But the ground truth was revealed in his next comment. It had nothing to do with missing mom at all!
