Part two of "Evening at SRK's"-see recent blog.

Finally at 1:00am-Zippy (almost 17)-trudges through the door-DH was nervous about Zippy walking for an hour at night as well he should be-but DH has finally wrapped his head around the fact that Zippy needs to learn things the "hard way" or he does not "get it".

Zippy is not pleased with Daddy-kins-starts in with his condescending attitude-

"Dad, you always said if I "needed" a ride you would come and get me".

DH: "Zippy, what I meant when I was talking to you and Charlie 2 (my bio son) -was that if you guys have been partying or your designated driver could not get you home-Endora and I would make every effort to bring you home-i.e. pick you up or get a taxi".

Unbelievable-Zippy would only hear "ride anytime" from a conversation 6 months ago about drinking and driving!!!! What is even more unbelievable is that he used that same excuse the last time he needed a ride when buses stopped!

Zippy goes on to extrapolate about how "plans" that we never even knew about fell through and that is how he found himself in the situation he is in, blah blah blah-when DH sent Zippy off to bed.

Zippy is now ready to get his driver's license-Zip's grandfather has a car for him-I say to DH isn't that great-Zip gets handed everything!

DH says-"Endora, every time I "give" something to that boy, he wrecks it-I think he better "earn" this privilege!!

Me: :O

DH slips in and out of guilt parenting Zippy-but he is finally "getting" the fact that if this young man does not get his head out of his butt-DH is in for a LONG RIDE (Pun intended) with Zippy hanging off of him.
