Dear Valued Users,
It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.
This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.
We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.
We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and we wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Dawn and The StepTalk Team

It's been a busy day! Went
It's been a busy day! Went with my sister to see an apartment and a house this morning. They both had pros and cons but I was aware I had to make a decision, if I wasn't quick I may lose both. I rang my daughter and we chatted about the differences and in the end I realised it was the apartment that won. Even though it is on the ground floor it is clean spacious and well equipped with its own parking space and two bathrooms. The house had more bedroom space and a back yard but it just wasn't as 'convenient' as the apartment. They are both in a great location with excellent transport links and very close to my sister too.
So, I put down my deposit and once the checks are made I can move in. Wow! It is so exciting! Thanks for your good wishes everyone!
yay!
Awesome girl!!! Congratulations
You might grow to appreciate apartment living... I spent 15 years in a house but upon leaving SO I moved into an apartment and have enjoyed it tremendously. So nice to not even change a lightbulb on your own without calling maintenance. Pamper yourself
