Conspiracies, Really?

FMSL's picture

SD12 has lived with us fulltime for many years. The closer she gets to the teen years, the more I notice things go missing around the house, or she's hiding something. Always. Mostly small things like my art supplies, soda, a cutting board (yeah, I know!) Yesterday, I couldn't find a DVD. I looked everywhere and asked DH to help look. I was annoyed in general about losing the DVD so I made a passive aggressive remark that "A lot of things have gone missing in this house lately." I didn't come right out and say it but DH knew I was referring to SD taking things. He knows she is sneaky. Last week, DH caught her with his ipod outside. Still, he decided to go off at me about how he doesn't want to hear about my conspiracy theories. It's not a conspiracy theory if it's been proven to be real in the past. He knows it's entirely possible that she would take something. I can't help but think of her first when she has been so sneaky all these years. He's a controlling person so that's why I've adapted to saying things passively and that's not even who I am. Before him, I was always a straight shooter but he has me cowering like a fool after all these rough years.

I was eating salad every night. I have to. Recently found out I have severe impaired glucose tolerance or early diabetes. I had ONE big bowl I used for my salads. One. I don't like the cereal bowls. Everyone damn well knows I use that bowl.

A little over a week ago my bowl goes missing.

"He's a controlling person so that's why I've adapted to saying things passively and that's not even who I am. Before him, I was always a straight shooter but he has me cowering like a fool after all these rough years." Been there, done that and resented it every time. It's a b**ch that one can't speak up for the sake of having some peace and quiet.
Can't you look in SD's room?

SD stole, a lot. So my kids bedrooms and my valuables got locked up. But you can't lock everything. Random stuff would go missing. Like a can opener when I'm about to use is missing. A cup. Like just a coffee mug that was mismatched and nothing but clutter to begin with. H was of course in complete denial and didn't like his daughter being "accused" . He said the house was cluttered and no one knew how to keep track of things.

I would search her bags, but she caught on to that, and started a sneaking it on her person.

Since she stopped coming for visitation here, the big difference is yes stuff goes missing.......but always always pops up, sooner or later. Usually sooner.

Lol! Yep. I casually mentioned my missing bowl days ago and queried whether skids took it. Oh the horror!

When SD11 had my bowl yesterday, I gave DH my Dana possessed by Zuul look and needn't say a word.

That's rough :(. SD 9 (who is the only skid I love as if she were mine) is a little thief and I hate it. So far we have only discovered her stealing from her mom's house to bring over here or give to dh and I as gifts, but I would be naive to believe she only stole from one house and I think we just haven't caught her yet (or perhaps we have nothing worth stealing). Have you caught her yet? If you do maybe you should have a little talk with her, something simple about not taking things that don't belong to you.
