School and BM drama goes on
SS10 is with BM this week and, big shocker, DH got texts from his gifted & talented program teacher saying SS wasn't logged on to participate. Same thing that's been happening for weeks. (Hopefully he's actually "attending" his regular classes now because he also wasn't logging in for English/social studies.) Again, DH forwarded to BM. She eventually replied he was logged on now. Told DH she didn't think it was a big deal since he was doing some sort of math games.
Not really the point. The issue for DH is that SS needs to learn to do what he's supposed to at the appropriate times. Instead, he's been skipping out on stuff he doesn't enjoy it doesn't see as important and plays around with his iPad or video games.
He may well be bored. He's smart and the remote school is way watered down. But lying and slacking off aren't ok -- or aren't behaviors to encourage as that could bite him later.
She also still hasn't been taking SS to baseball practice because he doesn't want to go. As DH says, he doesn't want to because he's struggling with some things -- but he's struggling because he's not going to half his practices. No clue what will happen when games start.
Anyway, he can't control what happens at BM's house but it is frustrating because it makes DH's job that much harder.
Whatever. I can already see his possible path and it's a shame. I hope I'm wrong. But SS is making it more and more clear that he'd rather stay with his mom. DH was pretty strong in his language tonight that he's getting very fed-up with BM and with SS's attitudes and behavior. I just hope he's having a real epiphany that he needs to step it up. But I'm not holding my breath...
