Frustrated

I mean really....Is the $68,766.88 that we have paid our lawyer not enough for him to do his freaking job?? Yes, I just pulled out the last statement and added it all up. This is over 6 years total so while it is a lot... it hasn't been all at once, I guess.

We asked him to file for contempt on my birthday in April. He did it a week later. We asked him to secure a hearing for July or August so that we don't have to worry about my kids being home with us. I have emailed him repeatedly- he says sure thing and then never does. I was pretty bitchy when I talked to him this morning. I mean really, has he not figured out in the last 5 years that BM's attorney will not respond to him? Is he surprised that all of his emails have gone unanswered? Just book the freaking hearing.

Now I am waiting on what he says. We have requested it be a zoom hearing but we shall see. This is for all the contempt that she pulled weeks after her last guilty contempt. We are hoping that she both- spends 30 days in jail like the judge threatened and that we are finally awarded all of the money back for the missed flights, cruise and lawyer fees associated.

I know some of you are all- blah, blah, blah- putting BM in jail will do no good- but we don't care. If anyone deserves jail time for contempt- it is BM2!

But seriously... yeah, Chef went through a total of 4 attorneys over the past 15 years.   The Gir had the luxury of staying with her hometown pitbull attorney.   Possibly time to change attorneys?  I get the feeling that most attorneys who represent fathers know they are on the losing end so they burn out after a while and settle on collecting the most billable hours.   Fathers need to change attorneys to keep then fresh.

I wish we could. BM has the only attorney in the COUNTY that does family law. Our current was the only firm that we could find willing to travel for a hour to go to that county. We started with a different attorney from the firm. I will say that the guy we have now is young and better at communicating than his SR. partner was but I just hate all of hickville.

We are dealing with a lawyer who seems to be taking his time to do anything. When I say we, I mean my husband, I have had no contact with him so far. But it is fustrating and my husband seems reluctant to push him sometimes too. We have been trying to get things moving since Februrary/March time...I know there has been a pandemic, but I am pretty sure the legal process shouldn't be this slow.

Luckily for us this is just the start of our formal legal journey.....it sounds like you have had plenty of years of fustrations. I hope that you get the aciton you need and the dates you wanted.
