Follow up from the last blog: me and DH had a talk about tone and it went well. He agreed to try better and at least he's pointing out the issue vs ignoring it

Well DHs family came over. His dad, sister , and bil

It went really really well.it was nice to sort of vent the issues with DH, BM , and the skids when DH was out for a bit.

They like me a lot. Father was a heavy heavy Russian accent so I had to ask for a redo sometimes when he spoke but we got along well

We made a Russian dumpling today and father had to supervise. It was a mix or irritating and endearing ( I'm polish and make pierogi from scratch - boiling frozen dumplings isn't a challenge)

Regardless - everyone was happy. The stepkids love their aunt but definitely have a hard time with father due to the accent. 

Favorite bit was when after both the kids refused their food after a bite he brought up to me in private 

" Their mother is American , of course they are entitled"

"Father I'm American too"

"Yes but you were raised with culture not entitlement and it shows "

Just to have a sense of back up. That making kids pizza bagels instead of real food when they refuse almost everything is messed up. It felt nice. 

BM has the kids constantly seeing her family and had issues with them seeing DHs . With them here the tide is turning

P.S.: sister in law made the best code name for BM "Gloria" ( always on the run now etc... Due to the move for no reason)
